Technically, I don't quite agree with you on your first point, though.
Pronunciation is the easy part in learning/speaking a foreign language, and
an accent is not hard to eliminate. All it takes is the willingness to mimic
, and some endurance. The real threshold is the cultural barrier, something
first-generation immigrants may never overcome.

singers ever intentionally tried to mimic the American accent. As a matter
of fact, some of them did admit that they had to make extra effort to show
their British accent.
Someone studied this and talked about this recently on PBS. I do feel people
singing in Mandarin tend to lose their accent. I don't know how true this
is for other languages. |

比如说你要投资的话,可别在有点儿钱的时候就投进去。
什么时候投,还是有点儿技巧的。
如果你胆子不大,对mutual funds不够熟悉的话,可以买index funds。index funds一
般就是mimic market return,跟市场收益紧密挂钩的。买的时候,争取在market最低
点买,如果没本事掐到最低点,好歹也找个相对低的时候买进。比如今年S&P500最低的
时候在1270点,现在在1360,年初的时候是1450,如果你能有本事在1300左右买进的话
,现在也赚了5%以上了。如果你有幸买的MF比market赚的更多的话,那么恭喜你,你已
经赚了10%了。
然后可以利用market的波动来赚点儿小钱。
展开来说,就是market大跌的时候,比如昨天跌了近3%,那么昨天就适合把risk低的,
beta低的卖掉,换成risk高点儿的,beta高点儿的,因为market下跌时,risk低 |

Chapter 12 is about a man who can't remember anything due to severe amnesia,
and he has to make up stories to try to make sense, but never succeeds,
which leaves him in a frenzy.
