这群人一辈子从来不工作，但不愁吃喝和医疗保险。天天没事，孩子生一堆。40-50岁
的人通常都有几十个GRANDCHILDREN. 吃饱喝足了孩子生过了就喝药，打劫，杀人。偶
而运气不好被对方自卫给干掉了，就上街游行，要求严惩杀人者，自卫也不行。反正有

概述一下原作者的观点，正确与否另论：
0.文章开头有一段无关的，英国贵族如何在生育上超过贫民的讨论，算是引子。
1.中国的考试文化，由于基数过大，尚不足以造成生物学意义上的进化选择压力。(我
觉得其实是有的，这里作者没有定量讨论，只是hand wave了一下，而且在文化上，考
试属于全民性的活动，文章里也有能考试对于讨老婆的优势的论述)。
2.中国的“分家”传统在农村造成地主/富农后代经济地位的快速下降，从而中国传统
农村的繁衍竞争压力大大超过其他文化，所谓能剩下来的都是人精。作者虽然没有明说
，但这个因素造成的优胜劣汰的压力是很明显的。
3.中国长期稳定的王朝和平时期，人口接近饱和，农村的生存压力主要来于对食物生产
/土地拥有权的『和平的、强调秩序的』竞争，使得后代拥有勤奋、智力、守序的『优
良』特点。

议。这次SCA5提案投票中，加州三位华裔参议员均投了赞成票，这让身为李心培很不能
理解。他称，亚裔民众推选他们出来，就是希望他们能够在关键时刻维护亚裔居民的权
利，保护我们的利益。而这次提案的投票中，他们非但没有保护亚裔居民，反而倒向另

大姐，说是身体不好不能工作，只能吃福利。她自己16岁就怀孕生小孩，她的女儿也继
承了母亲早育的传统。所以不到50岁，最大的grandchild已经14岁了。总共三个
grandchildren，孩子妈妈因为吸毒，被剥夺了抚养权，现在孩子都归她抚养。三个孩
子都有问题，一个多动（孩子哪有不动的啊），一个有一型糖尿病，另外一个有自闭症
。三个孩子每天都吃无数meds。昨天晚上，她在照顾最小的孩子吃药，医生让吃剂量小
的先，然后她就问了我们大家一个问题，反正我听完之后真是担心这几个孩子。她问，
0.25毫克比0.5毫克多吧？她照顾三个小孩确实很不容易，但是真是担心她能力不够啊。
二姐，完全就是懒，不想工作，生了4个小孩。每次见面都说她对吃的有多挑，只买好

喜欢abuse power，文化有sadism倾向。这一套词汇用中文真的不好表达，我是来美国
后构建了相关的英语词汇后才把这个问题想通。把power翻译成权力不能表达完整的意
思。权力这个词在中文语境中通常涉及政府，但是power的涵义要广很多。
说中国人喜欢abuse power，就是说拥有power的一方对没有power的一方使用power，施
加cruelty没有节制。例子太多，比如政府和人民间，父母和子女间，雇主和员工间，
老师和学生间，甚至顾客和服务员间，无处不见有power的一方abuse power。具体事件
我就不说了，是中国人都知道我说的是什么。
中国人的虚伪之处是abuse power时还要找冠冕堂皇的借口。政府对人民是因为“生存
权”，父母对子女，老师对学生是因为“为你好”，顾客对服务员是因为“顾客就是上
帝”。
老毛说他看到了当权者abuse power的倾向，搞了文化大革命，但是他看到的只是表面
现象，不是根本原因。关键问题并不是谁有power，而是有power的人应该怎么做。文化

Our choice is self indulgent consumerism, cheap political theatrics, empty
celebrity worship, and self absorbed rants, or redirecting ourselves and
doubling down on basic research, education, infrastructure, well paid work,
investment in the well being of our children and grandchildren and upholding
the rule of law. |

Obituary for Dr. Yu Ping Liu
Yu Ping Liu, longtime resident of Rolling Hills, passed away on February 18,
2018 at the age of 72. He shared 47 years of marriage with his loving wife
Chiling. He is also survived by his brother Yu Nan Liu (wife, Mary Liu), his
sister Yin-An Liu Tsai (husband, James Tsai), his daughter, Alice Liu
Jensen (husband, Christopher Jensen), his son Bryan Liu (wife, Kristy Liu),
and three grandsons, Garrett Liu Jensen, and Brandon and Lucas Liu.
