我仔细想了想,还真不知道Differential Geometry到底是研究什么的。
我能想到的就是Differentiable manifold, differentiable maps, tangent bundle,
affine connection, curvature tensor等。再有其他东西就算其他比如Differential
topology or Riemannian geometry之类的研究对象了。
所以上述这些科目的参考书中都会有相应的微分几何的介绍。
比如do Carmo Riemannian geometry中就有不错的介绍。他的特点是书写得很几何化,
不是那么抽象。Burcker 写的Introduction to Differential Topology也可以作为入
门。还有Helgason 的名著Differential Geometry Lie Groups and Symmetric Spaces
中也有介绍。所以单独的微分几何书并不是很有趣,有趣的是当微分几何应用到其他领
域中的时候。

CS
Computational Science有很多方向,Geometry仅是其中之一。可以到买买提的
Computation版问(学术学科)。工业应用要结合Mechanical,视觉化要结合Graphics
。GIS用到的Geometry不算高深,用不上。大数据(Data Science)本质就是强化基础技
术Programming Skills,Parallelization,Data analysis,不用专注单一方向。
Generalist vs Specialist。大前提是两种都可以拿PhD。

I used two books for beginners years ago, I found them very useful.
Notes on differential geometry by Hicks, a bit terse, but always to the
points.
Geometry of Manifold by Bishop + Crittenden is an excellent introductory
book, very easy to read.

,所以西文里留下这个希腊词根的词。
Algebra是阿拉伯文,Al相当于阿拉伯文里的冠词。代数在西方是舶来品,所以用阿拉
伯文音。

人类至少 2/3 是五音不全,分不清三个 Ave Maria 哪个是哪个。实在不能把钢琴当必
修。
同理,人类至少 2/3 是 Visuospatial Sketchpad 不全, Formal Operation 没有。实
在不能把 Geometry I 当必修。
当然,RAP 和 TI-82 是必修课,总不能不会讲话不会摁计算器。

wind说的AOPS Introduction to Geometry可能对大部分三年级小朋友太难。
但AOPS还有一个Beast Academy系列,专门给小朋友看的卡通数学书。
里面不止有几何,其它的也有。如果你只想教几何,可能得挑着讲了。

How to use the above formula to prove (axb)xc = (a.c)b - (b.c)a (2)?
I know how to prove (2) with kronecker's identities. But what's the
connection between (1) and (2)?
I don't get this from p.14 in 'Differential Geometry' by Kreyszig.
Also, what's the connection between d2x/dt2 and d2x/ds2? Problem 12.2
contradicts with (12.7')

顺便普及下非欧几何。
对空间相对性的思考完全从数学开始的,主要的想法是空间是不是绝对的(或者说是不
是只有一个理想的空间模型:欧几里得空间---就是平常说的平直空间)。 这是从
欧几里德第五公设开始的。
结论:
19世纪, Bolyai和Lobachevsky证明了非欧几何的存在。高斯更是理论上提出了曲率和
内蕴几何, 然后由黎曼推广到高维。 这些数学家的工作从哲学层面上说, 我们生活
的空间可能是平直的,也可能是弯曲的。黎曼更是第一个将时间和空间一起考虑的人,
所谓时空。
爱因斯坦是天纵之才, 用黎曼的语言提出了广义相对论。 他的工作的意义应该从
Bolyai的话来理解:

没觉得牛津大学的GTM丛书比Springer的GTM丛书B格高。PUP出的好的书都是那些鹅毛犹
太人写的。很多书都很薄,很薄。需要功底。
总之看作者不看出版社。看出版社太“那义务(江蛤语)”了。
一般鹅毛犹太人写的数学书都不错。鹅毛犹太人是美国数学学会一个很大的势力,经常
“打压中国人(星宿老仙语)”。

确实这书的起点就是 Algebra / AMC10 level。。。再基础的东西涉及不多。
不过另一方面,pre-AMC10 的基础的东西的网站资料资源现在都比较丰富,学校教育
一般都涉及,一般不太是个问题就是了。。。而且基础的东西在做题中学习也是一种
办法。
当然我觉得这本书如果有缺的话,我觉得可能缺了一章比如 “connection between
euclidean geometry, analytic geometry, and algebra, and kinematics”
。。。因为我觉得对很多 spatial thinking 的 kids,建立这三者的概念联系还是
很重要很基础的。。。我在教娃酱油 analytic geometry 基础概念的时候,后来发现
需要建立好酱油 euclidean geometry 的基础概念(相似三角形,平行公理,垂直概念
(第四公理)等等等等),这样才能理解好比如酱油 analytic geometry 里的

你没有理解俺的意思。。。俺并不反对 “基本初中欧氏平几题” ,因为那是
解析几何的基础。。。俺是认为那些看起来很“灵巧”的“钻牛角尖初中欧氏
平几难题”,对于大多数娃,没有必要。。。应该尽早上解析几何。。。
而且这个讨论线程里,你也看到了,analytic geometry + transformation
geometry 的思想(比如 congruence 啥的),作为相对完备系统,可以
“反映射” 回初中欧氏平几。。。也就是刷个小时数的问题。。。但是如果
钻在基于尺规作图欧氏平几不完备系统的 tricks 里面,这一辈子可能都
看不到一个不完备系统和一个完备系统之间的关系。。。
从这个角度说,我觉得娃还是应该学完初中欧氏平几的基本思想以后,早早
就应该上 analytic geometry 和 transformation geometry。。。
把欧氏平几 tricky 难题就作为兴趣玩玩,不应该作为数学的主攻方向
。。。然后到将来再看,如果走理论数学道路(或者参加竞赛)的,可以
到那是再刷 AIME/IMO 类型的平几题。。。如果不走理论数学道路或者

Boris Nikolaevich Delaunay or Delone (Russian: Бори́с Никола
́евич Делоне́; March 15, 1890 – July 17, 1980) was one
of the first Russian mountain climbers and a Soviet/Russian mathematician,
and the father of physicist Nikolai Borisovich Delone.
The spelling Delone is a straightforward transliteration from Cyrillic he
often used in recent publications, while Delaunay is the French version he
used in the early French and German publications.

复旦大学 杨振宁 杂志发表 物理系 文章
最近在物理杂志发表的“杨振宁先生与复旦大学物理系教师的座谈”是以本人为作者的
文章。它基于杨先生与复旦大学物理系教师的对话。将它转变为一篇文章是一个创作过
程。每一个词、每一个标点都倾注了我们的心血。由于不必细说的种种方面,本文的成
文花费了我们大量的精力。本人学习研读过杨先生很多著作,与杨先生交往多年,也对
物理学史有所熟悉,但为在本文中保持和传达杨先生的风格仍然付出了大量心血。希望
本文能很好地表达杨先生的风格。
我们也很感谢物理杂志的合作。
