I ask because I don't want to spend time and money in college, and I am

About the literal recitation, I guess this is the easiest way for the

最基本的一点：Double Patenting 是claim to claim comparison， 102 rejection是
disclosure to claim comparison。
而且你把Examiner的perspective和applicant的perspective混淆了。流程是，
Examiner看到prior art的disclosure anticipate your claim， 他就发102
rejection。他要是看见prior art的claim和你的claim可以cross-read，而且在他的记
录里prior art和你的app是同一个assignee，估计就是发你double patenting
rejection了。我见过的double patenting基本都是同一个applicant的parent 和
continuation两个case，examiner会发DP。否则examiner就算是发现prior art和你的
claim可以cross-read，只要没有assignment，他又哪里知道两个invention后面有
