如果不是美国的本科，要做evaluation和TOEFL+TSE,
但是有例外：
1,托福的例外是：
"transcripts which verify six full-time semesters (6 credit hours per
semester) toward an advanced engineering degree in the United States",
俺是美国的MS+PhD,是不是就可以不用考托福了？

evaluation process is so complicated.
I know a lot of people from China (everybody from China should also know
this is true) with their Bachelor's degree in medicine (from China) and
their degrees were evaluated to be equivalent to M.D.s in the US. These
people just take some tests and they became licensed doctors and make much
more money than the engineers. Their test passing rate is in the percentage
of 70s and 80s. |

The reason is I got too much credit on Engineering. I have total 228 credits
for my BS degree.
Under current CPEES system, someone from China will get great chance to pass
if he/she only has around 130 credits for his/her BS degree.
One of the reasons of this evaluation is to "Make foreign degree worse than
USA degree", that is the goal. It is our personal choice to do evaluation,
to get PE in USA, to stay in USA. If yo |

1. CPEES: $375 require course description, also anybody know where I can
find "Transcript request form" which is required to fill up by the school
and submitted with the package?
2. jsilny: $275. No couse description is required to be submitted with the
application.
It seems most of people select CPEES. Is there any reason for that?

evaluation.

挑不快的话题，反而不利于沟通。
而且据我所知，有很多老师都对teaching很不关心，而且一些有个性的牛教授，
teaching的evaluation会特别差。
teaching的evaluation这东西，其实并不一定反映出一个老师的教学质量。
讲东西以清楚为主，没必要全面，毕竟Phd学生也很聪明，本来就应该一点就透。 |

it by another company. They don't require course description. That is 4 years
ago. Right now, they changed policy. Only ECEI.org evaluation is acceptable. |

online show I am prequalified for the exam. I asked if i can take the pe test,
before I got the evaluation from ECEI. They did not reply yet. I can get
course description now. Also I attached my usa transcript, i took some courses
in statistics department. Also attach a copy of my undergraduate evaluation
by another company. I passed it and took FE 4 years ago. Let see what can
happen. Hope this board is not tough.

1.在国内有4年法学本科学历。有人说如果是这样，那根本不用做evaluation，到时候

2.在国内没有考司考。则"a written statement from your law school or the
admitting authority...confirming that you have successfully completed all of
the educational requirements for admission to practice" 这一条如何证明？需
要找什么机关出这一份证明？或者，可不可以根本不提供这方面的文件？

（0 or 1），python，sklearn
由于dataset unbalanced, 我用了stratified shuffle split 在grid search CV
training， 找到最优的estimator （scoring = f1）
之后我用几个不同的algorithm 最优的estimator clf 去 evaluate performance的时
候，应该用什么样的strategy？
1. 我用了整个dataset，只用一次，求prediction，然后比较得出accuracy，
precision，recall。这样score很高，高达0.9 以上
2. 我也是用stratified shuffle split 去create 1000 folds, 每个fold train，然
后test， 把accuracy，precision，recall 结果average。这样的话结果很低，只有0.
3-0.6

I am seeing a used Ford Fusion 2012 SEL (~3000miles).Have test driven and
feel pretty good. The price also sounds a great deal (2000 lower than KBB
fair price). The only concern is the car was once hit from back side and the
rear bumper, left quart panel and trunk have been repaired at Body shop,
though it still holds a clean title. The seller has a dealer's license and
purchased this car from car rental company at a low price, thus sell it at

自己明明已经尽心尽力了，可还是会有学生不喜欢自己
看起来似乎只有一个同学对我很不满意，于是在negative points那里洋洋洒洒写了好
几行, 这一个几乎可以抵消前面所有其他同学给我写的positive points... 他说我的
英语，还有我一个中国TA的英语不够好，我也就认了，英语确实还需要好好努力。但其
中有几条明明是假话，比如说我的slides跟教科书一样，没有新例子，这个根本距离事
实很远很远...明摆着就是一个没怎么看书或者没怎么去听课的人写的。可是人家写都
写了，我也没什么办法改变了。虽说这是一个40多人的大班，可我当初教的时候还很自
信可以让每个学生都高高兴兴的学好...
那些好的评价还是挺让我感动的， 不过看了这条长长的负评价后很伤心也很迷茫，不

1. Lecture less, but with details. Do not rush and teach too much in one
class.
2. Speak slowly in your classes.
3. Try to have some personal touch with your students: be nice and
understanding to them;
4. Try to have one-on-one time.
5. Distribute informal evaluations to your students during the middle of
semester to have feedbacks. So you can work on your problems based on their
comments before it is too late. |

hurt you a little bit. but if you are targeting research-oriented schools,

当然我是觉得teaching evaluation也没有那么重要. 过于看重的话,
会降低教学质量. 所以我坚持10%的F比例. 不合格的, 坚决fail.
我见过有的教授TE很高, 给学生要求很松的. 那样我觉得违背我个人
对教育的信条. |

safe to have above 3.5 but I also heard a much higher threshold from some
other faculty. Some of my colleague do not even trust the teaching eval
since there are millions of ways of pleasing students without teaching
them real stuff. So I often invited my colleague to my class to observe
and evaluate my teaching.
But I believe that being in a research university means that eventually it
is research that matters a lot more |
