texture, lip thickness, nose width, etc. 这些是区分不同racial groups的主要标
志。
相较于race而言，ethnicity是transmissible的，如果一个人觉得他/她和某个ethnic
group说的是同一种语言，相信同样的宗教，有同样的三观，有同样的饮食习惯，etc.

I am against SCA5 not because that it hurts the interest of a specific
ethnic group ( the Asian in large) but it is against human and the
advancement of our society. SCA5 is racism. Favorism based upon race equals

The student body of The Harker School in San Jose, Santa Clara County,
California is made up of 6 ethnicities. The largest ethnic group of the 1748
students at The Harker School is Asian. This is followed by White (24.7 %),
Mixed Students of two or more ethnicities (3.8 %), Hispanic (1.7 %), Black
(0.5 %) and Pacific Islander (0.1 %).
Race Number %
Asian 1211 69.3 %
This number is already under control of race enrollment.

The situation is much worse than this article admits. I used to be a faculty
representative on a college admissions committee and when students either
didn't mark a racial category or marked "other" or "decline to state" I saw
admissions officers google the surnames and then write an ethnic identify in
pencil on the non-compliant applicant form. The committee then divided the

As to the second one, I stick to my opinion. We have 56 ethnic groups in
China, and Han is one of them. He is an ethnic in China belonging to the
majority Han (suppose he is),and an ethnic in America belonging to the

难道你不知道identity很明显可以从姓上看出来么? 改个名就"模糊"了?
前面那楼主也是这样, 举一堆日本的姓, 与别人改英文"名"来做比较,
楼主是无知, 还是故意偷换概念?
此外, 人生中重要的事多了去了. 有取有舍本来就是正常的.
你愿意取, 别人愿意舍, 大家正常选择, 而选择不同而已.
你认为名字对这个"ethnic identity"特重要, 没问题.
别人没有任何必要也这么认为.
就我前面举的例子,
如果有人特重视国家, 而且认为挂国旗就表明自己对国家特忠诚. 我认为
这种想法和做法完全正常. 但如果这个人开始指责别人
不挂国旗, 那么这就过界了. |
