习core的皇袍照，引起了网上很多评论。有意思的是，皇袍是满清款式的，符合网上某
些人对现在土共的评价，后清。可是更有意思的是，有人给习core的谥号（人还在，就
上谥号，比较恶劣啊）却是熹宗，却是明朝的。所以，引出了一个问题：现在的中国相
当于历史上的哪个阶段？
我认为，当今中国更象明朝，而不是清朝。本朝太祖＝明太祖，前面的常校长＝陈友谅
，华废帝＝朱允文， 矮帝＝朱棣，文革＝明初大杀功臣。但是现在相当于明朝的哪个
阶段呢？看人心之散乱，政治混乱，通货膨胀，但同时社会也非常开放，富有活力，很
象明末的情况。可是，即使是明末，如果没有政府财政问题和土地兼并问题，明朝再撑
个一百年也没问题。土地兼并可以说是明朝灭亡的主要原因之一，也是历史上很多王朝
末期农民起义蜂起的原因。没有土地兼并，就没有流民，就不会有李自成张献忠。以本

好不容易到了十年，给习core铺路，全力配合习core，全身而退，这样的心胸和淡然，
官场中混的人，有几个能够在做得到。
不争名不夺利，恪尽职守，任人非议，如此淡然的境界，没几个领导人能做到。

。这个Common core是试图把已经很简单明了的问题，再简单明了化，1-2步完成的解题
，变成100步完成，因为这1-2步需要逻辑思维，或者需要记忆。有些学生不肯动脑筋，
因此出现了Common core，替你动脑筋。其真正的结果是把简单的问题更复杂化，混乱
化，说不清楚。而且这些方法并不是给落后学生的，是强迫给所有学生的，把那些聪明
学生从1-2步引导到100步解题，拖延教学时间，浪费才华，固化思维(因为你不这样做
100步是会被判错的)。不是你想怎么发散思维来解答，是按他们的标准100步来解答。
更重要的是，是联邦大政府直接干涉州一级，地方政府的教育，准备洗脑用的。

间比这个mitbbs都要多了。
我是不知道nationwide， 但是local什么情形还是有所了解的。 common core的数学
确实很烂。 但是华人娃的数学是靠在学校学出来的吗？ common core对于reading和
考试的要求的提高绝对是正面的。
这个谁也不用说服谁， 美国最大的弊端就是YMMV, 不同环境不同学校甚至不同老师造
成的客观效果都差很多。
老中人微言轻， 在这里吵翻天也翻不了真天。 反正我给学校的survey里填的是１０
０％支持common core. 实在不喜欢的， 换学校吧。
btw, 关于common core这个东西， 扯开政治的东西， 我觉得parenting那里的评价
还是客观的多。 不要让你的政治立场遮蔽了你的理性判断， 那样的话跟信change教

*)basement foundation walls 看到pour concrete 和hollow core block两种材料，
觉得pour concrete的更好，但是这个房子是hollow core block的。
想问问大家，hollow core block的有什么坏处，另外对以后再卖房，房子的value有什
么影响。
*)还有一个walk up basement,不是walk out,是walk up.就是地面上有个门，然后几节
台阶下到地下室，感觉很鸡肋，而且感觉不安全。这个住进去以后会不会有什么麻烦？

我的围棋数学 Proposal 已经提交給了第63届IL数学老师年会的组委会。
3月底/4月初可以得到结果。
如果批准，今年10月中旬将正式給美国IL全州的数学老师介绍围棋数学。
会议地点在 Peoria，IL。
这个地方很有名，美国文化里面有个俗语——"Will it play in Peoria?"，
就是说（美国的）新事物要先放到 Peoria 看看效果。
（翻成中文，大致是——不管骡子是马，都得先拉到 Peoria 试一试。）

发帖数: 19398 | 49 我因为很爱好数学，common core数学大纲 刚刚出来我就开始了解
后来参加很多seminar，看书文章，对其前因后果以及发展过程都算比较了解
后来创立围棋数学，研究 COMMON core的每个条目都和围棋的匹配关系。
把大纲一条一条仔细读过思考过10来次。
下个月我还要在全州数学老师年会上讲“如何利用围棋帮助实现Common Core”
总体感觉 common core 比原来的 NCTM 的数学大纲更有连贯性。
( NCTM的大纲有几幅插图不错，几乎就是围棋数学的翻版）
至于实施的结果，各种因素太多了，不好预测。
有些东西，本来是对的，但是做不好，也成了错的。
有些东西，本来有问题的，一努力做好了，也成了对的。 |

Beyond their poor content, i.e. standards in math setting requirements 2
years behind the rest of the world, the fact that there is no process to
amend them speaks worlds as to their lack of being a "standard".
Standards are revised, updated and sometimes even redacted as new and better
standards become available but with Common Core, they are essentially
carved in stone as there is no provisions allowing for or supporting their
change.
