Wednesday, April 25. All classes will be cancelled and the campus will be
closed to all college personnel as well. The reason for the decision is

一个学期后，我毕业了也随着老公离开了学校原来的地方，来到老公工作的state。由
于想着自己要relocate，老公也说希望我过来，不要找local的工作，所以在学校的
campus career fair没有很上心。大多数在我们学校hire的，opening也都是州内的。
我是master of accounting毕业的，本科也是在这里读的。口语不错，正在考CPA，有
卡。在学校的时候参加过很多学生组织，也有leadership experience。在学校做个很
多part time的，都是什么tutor之类的，没有太relate to accounting。实习有两个也
跟审计不太相关，其中有一个是在美国的实习，基本上跟accounting的相关经历几乎是
0.
现在网上很多工作都需要工作经验，可是没有第一份工作哪来的工作经验呢？不需要工
作经验的几乎都是campus hire啊。尤其是四大，entry level几乎都走的campus hire

背景：我们已经注册了他们的Kindergardten 班，在Washington Park 的campus。
但是那天听朋友说，好像 他们在SANTA CLARA Pomeroy的campus 比较好。
搞得有点想转学。(这个手续上不难。我们还没开始。）
朋友说，
1.是学生组成比例上稍微比Washington Park的好一些，就是说印度人
少一些，diversity好一些。请问是否是这个状况？
我们看过Washington的那个，班里30个孩子，大概25个印度人，剩下
族群5个。的确很恐怖。

我还在上学，也没什么经验。想听听大家的过来人的经验。
1、请问teaching 为主的学校是否特别看重你发表了多少文章？她刚刚做博士后没多久
，也没有发多少文章？当时电面的时候，感觉SC问的都是很泛泛的问题，过去教过什么
课，今后想教什么课？之类的，如果不是拼papers的话，我俩感觉很难从问的问题中挑
人，当然SC也许非常有经验，一听就知道这个人行不行？
2、请问大家如果有招聘经验的，一般系里面的电面大概挑多少人，on campus面试挑多
少人？大概比例多少？我看论坛中很多说“陪练，陪衬的”，感觉就是说电面之后SC已
经定下来要谁了，只不过根据学校规矩还必须找几个人来面试，所以，基本上on
campus的面试大部分都是走过场是吗？
3、电面后，如何保持和SC的联系？她电话面试后当天给SC发了email表示感谢。但是都
没得到SC的回复。这种情况是不是不好的兆头。而且我觉得她有一封信有点失策，她解
释在电面中一个说的不太好的问题，这个是不是给对方留下不好的印象？以后是不是要

on campus居然是俩小时。。这一轮完了才是onsite。。怎么感觉跟过去面筋里的不太
一样啊。
有经验的人能来说一下，大概会问啥题。recruiter说跟onsite的差不多。就是会有

感觉F的campus很封闭，外面一圈的带锁的门。
里面的装修很粗糙，但暴露的水管真心不舒服（culture..）。
地方也太小，里面就一条路，活动不开，感觉有些压抑。
地点有些偏，中间要出门办事不方便。
停车场好挤，中间走了回来肯定没位置了。可以valet parking，感觉挤了压抑。
对比G来说，出门就是大马路，有一大片的开阔的地方可以散步。
G的食堂好多，选择好多啊。有人说F的食堂好吃，我真没觉得。
据F去G搞不好因为这个，的是不是有点太low了。。
但是觉得每天工作环境真心很重要，是不是在F工作久了就适应了。 |

campus周围有没有什么好的住房推荐？因为west campus那边好像没有耶鲁的房产。就
想问一下在west campus的一般都住在Orange还是West haven或是Milford?(Orange和
Milford房租都很贵啊，而且Orange出租的房子很少，West haven房租便宜一些，但是
好像区不太好，是不是不太安全？）
我5月底搬过来，一家四口，希望能尽快找到合适的房子，请大家帮忙提供点信息，先

Seasonal flu shot appointments provided by WorkLife Programs are available
on the West Lafayette campus. The vendor for these events is Maxim Health
Systems.
Free seasonal flu shots on campus are offered to benefit-eligible faculty
and staff, graduate staff, official Purdue retirees, and their spouses/same-
sex domestic partners.

have several beds left.
The bedrooms are two-person rooms. There are four people in the apartment
altogether. There is one kitchen and one bedroom in the apartment.
The price per bed (for a full-year lease) is $375/month for rent, and $75/
month for utilities.
The apartments are furnished and the location is on campus, the northwest
corner of campus (within walking distance of classes).

背景：我们已经注册了他们的Kindergardten 班，在Washington Park 的campus。
但是那天听朋友说，好像 他们在SANTA CLARA Pomeroy的campus 比较好。
搞得有点想转学。(这个手续上不难。我们还没开始。）
朋友说，
1.是学生组成比例上稍微比Washington Park的好一些，就是说印度人
少一些，diversity好一些。请问是否是这个状况？
我们看过Washington的那个，班里30个孩子，大概25个印度人，剩下
族群5个。的确很恐怖。
想知道 Pomeroy 这个campus 这个比例会好些吗？中国小孩多吗？
2.Pomeroy这个校区边上有一些中文的after school。比如morning star。
想请问都有哪些after school，有好的推荐的吗？
在Washing park的那个校区有什么不错的中文after school?
还有老师如何？
