／天，如果做一个backup plan，大概要考虑哪一些？
如果，两个full backup 之间，发生了故障，比如突然断电，或者crash，是不是之间
的data，就有可能一些lost了，我理解对码？据说，还要做一些differential backup,
"之间"，这个要手工的，还是auto的，比如每个小时啥的，请教。
一般而言，如何handle这个backup的。tips。谢谢xe |

但可以比较一下backup plus 1T（2.5版） 和passport 1T

backup plus 1T要薄，passport要小，外观见仁见智了，我觉得passport漂亮很多

backup plus 有SATA-USM的接头。标配是SATA-USB3。但你可以备SATA-thunderbolt或
FireWire等各种别的转接头。有人说这是优点，灵活，避免了将来usb3被淘汰的风险。
有人说是缺点，因为多了个转接头，个头大了降低便携性，且硬盘保修3年，转接头只

。这个Agent和list agent认识，是一家公司的，得到的信息是，当时这个房子只有一
个Offer。第二天，得到消息说，因为另一个Offer是All cash offer，所以卖家Accept
了，但是我们的Offer可以作为Back up。
过了一个星期后，今天接到Agent的信，说卖家给一个Backup的Counter Offer，Offer
上说我们是Position 1的Backup offer，还要求Offer的价格提高到88万。
我问了Agent，一共有几个Offer，另外为啥价钱加到88万，Agent说他们一共只有这2个
Offer,我们是唯一的Backup，另外Agent说那个Cash Offer可能是88万，所以卖家认为
房子的市场价格是88万，所以要求我们Backup Offer的价格提高到88万。

incremental backup is the most efficient. You only backup the files that
changed since the previous backup. But if anything happens to the base
backup, everything after it become useless.
Best solution: 1 whole disk image for the fresh installed disk. 1 whole
disk image for the last successful major change to your disk and you are

every 5 minutes using a sql 2005 third party VDI backup software, and
claimed it’s a recommended backup topology.
The backup files are on the same physical disk with the database data files
and grow 17 GB each day.

backup原理我都知道
我也知道必须这么顺序
问题是： 没这个条件！
现在的条件是：
1.
1个月前的fullbackup （被覆盖，没有了！）
2.
随后的diff backup都有
3.
随后的weekly fullbackup (没完成，都是partial 文件,所以checkpoint LSN没变，还
是在一个月前的fullbackup,所以diff backup的起始位置没变）
现在可以预见的解决办法是：
拿这个partial 文件，生成MDF，用diff backup apply map 所有的change上去，
有办法生成尽量多的数据么？
理论上，大量的diff数据都在diff backup里面，也就是最近的变化数据，是最需要恢
复的部分。

我觉得最大的问题是一个好的backup软件。比如说我，所有的重要的东西，都按目录码

了试windows server, 太复杂了，overkill。MS的synctoy的功能简单实用，缺点就是
慢。不过要是一周/一个月一次，应该还能应付。
我对那种increamental的东西, 还是啥的backup, 很不放心。我现在这种简单的backup
, 在backup的盘上是实实在在的东西。不是什么加过密/压过缩/被肢解得东西。从这个
角度来讲，我对RAID5也很不放心。比如6个硬盘，万一搞错了，岂不是全部完蛋了。要
适用笨办法，坏了一个，至少还有5/6德的一存活。
WHS似乎想搞一个类似raid的东西，还有很多increment |

surges). And when a hard drive fail, you loose X days worth of data.
Ultimate protection - RAID1 + Backups (ideally on cheap media in a fireproof
safe off site).
Better protection - RAID1
Lower protection - Manual backup.

备份数据是线上数据的好几倍，所以才有专门针对备份
数据进行压缩的dedupe industry。这批人的线上系统
必然也是raid，他们说raid不能代替备份，绝对是
理所当然。
版上那些号称用backup不用raid的，我很好奇你们backup
怎么做的？我raid上了好几年了，backup一直没有一个

你可以用 lvm 做简单backup.
1) lvm take snapshot.
2) backup the snapshot
3) remove the snapshot.
A good deal of the commercial back up system is doing
the redundant check and only backup the change part.
I guess you can do some thing like apple time machine
in LVM:
keep one old version of lvm snapshot.
when backup, take new snapshot.
Mount both snapshot, do file level diff.
rsync only the updated file into backup.
delete the old version of snapshot and keep the new one.

离比较大，左右两侧来车的水平距离和我的车比较远，backup camera还能提供一定的
预警时间；但是如果两排车的间距比较小，那么两侧通行的车就离我比较近，光靠
backup camera就比较危险，前一秒看着camera里啥也没有，下一秒没准就出现一辆车

Contract is bound by the law。只要前一个buyer不退，您老的offer就是高10万也没
有用。
您老这个backup offer，除了帮了seller，没有任何实际意义。
实际上submit backup offer不是个好strategy，基本上是在帮seller成交。因为您老
这个offer比前一个buyer的高，listing agent通常会暗示前一个buyer，前一个buyer
就会觉得自己拿到个deal，更不会退了。而且会更容易compromise，因而更容易成交。
所以一般我老不建议我的客人出backup offer。
如果前一个buyer back out，listing agent自然会来找回你的agent的。这样you are
in the better position to negotiate。 |

我们家没有sump pump，其次家里的房子很小，下水管道（走家庭污水的）一般出问题
了，自己小修，或者找plumber。这个coverage的deductible是1000刀，我觉得一般出
了问题要花1000刀的可能性应该很小吧？PS，买房之前我们这个房子已经把所有的PVC
管道换成了铜管，因为之前小区有几家出现水管爆裂的事情，所以我觉得自来水管爆裂
的可能性很低。
drainage是指什么，我的概念中，家里的水管系统两个部分，一部分是自来供水管道，
一部分是家庭污水管道，这个drainage是不是指家庭污水管道？
如果我不选择这个选项，那家里万一发生水灾（非自然灾害），那保险公司cover吗？
问这个问题是因为我们邻居冬天关了暖气，结果家里的水管爆裂，之后家里的墙体地板

说的，dream house呀（不过我是喜欢它的院子和地点，房子买来后要completely
renovate)，舍不得放弃。结果她就怂恿我们下了个backup offer. 这不，我们的offer
已经下过2周了，还没有任何消息。前一个买家还在墨迹中，也不知道啥时候他们会
close还是会退出。
估计lz的agent说的有道理。怎么来说，backup offer对卖家来说都是好事，还可以恐

但是如果你是从一个空database开始，differential backup包含了之后的所有change
，这个从理论上讲应该还是可以的
我不知道ms sql server怎么做这种情况的恢复，oracle是可以恢复的 |

一堑长一智，你一定要求BOSS BACKUP到TAPE上，否则下次再出事，就不是你的责任。
用SQL SERVER的就是老想着省钱，什么都不投资，SERVER也是最便宜的，公司自己不把
自己的数据当财产看，最后的结果就是公司忙着搞开发，最后数据一团糟，DB SERVER
CRUSH几回，公司就有倒的危险。TAPE BACKUP，FAILOVER,DATABASE MIRRORING/LOG
SHIPPING，这些都是必须的。 |

般都是这么分工的。你的DB需要ARCHIVE了，几个TB都是些什么东西，DATAWAREHOUSE也
没那么大吧。企业版可以COMPRESS BACKUP了，另外可以买THIRD PARTY BACKUP 压缩软
