TOKYO (AP) -- Toyota Motor Corp. said Thursday about 270,000 vehicles sold
worldwide, including luxury Lexus sedans, have faulty engines, but the
company did not say whether it would recall the automobiles.
The world's biggest automaker said the defective engines could stall while
the vehicles were moving.
Of the 270,000 vehicles, some 180,000 were sold overseas and the rest in
Japan. They include luxury Lexus sedans and popular Crown models.

DETROIT (Reuters) - BMW AG said on Tuesday that it would recall more than
150,000 vehicles in the United States due to the possibility of fuel pump
failures.
BMW said some 130,000 of its 2007 to 2010 model year vehicles equipped with

potential replacement of a high-pressure fuel pump.

I thought the 2011 car looks pretty cool.

是赔钱的。你不可能要求厂家赔钱生产来满足政府变态的要求。
现在对EV的推动是联邦新的油耗规定，减低油耗的最容易的办法就是用混合动力或者纯
电动。纯电动没戏是因为它只能是家庭的第二辆车。像LEAF这种车，虽然刚开始号称是
80迈，但是这东西就想你的手机电池一样你不知道他啥时候就会闹别扭。冬天低温和夏
天低温都会严重影响单次充电的运行里程。这个车的最低里程甚至可能低于40迈。
Range Anxiety是通用汽车用了大笔银子才终于领悟的，所以他们不会再造纯电动车，
而是去造了VOLT.
另外正是共和党的布什多年后重现提高了油耗标准，基本上这是通用开始启动volt的动
