发帖数: 100 | 4 I think you can either bet/fold or check depends on your reads on opponents.The preflop raiser could check to control the pot size and then raise to isolate, standard play by a lot of players at 1/2 level.
I guess a more interesting question would be will you bet/fold JJ in this situation. | H****r

发帖数: 456 | 6 As hillgong said, choosing check or bet highly depends on your opponents.
But I don't think this is an automatic bet/fold situation here. If raised by
the limper, I will fold without the 2nd thought. If raised by the PFR,I see
far more choices than folding based on PFR's style.
To me 33/JJ are the same here. | s*********f

It is safe to check it down without risking more money. But checking runs
the risk of overcards connecting with opponents and being bluffed out of the
pot on the turn or river. I have the best hand now a significant percentage
of time. Betting may take down the pot immediately and fits my aggressive
style.
So I bet $20, expecting two folds. The limper folded but the preflop raiser
check-raised me to $45. I was pretty unhappy.
What is the range of the preflop raiser?

发帖数: 456 | 8 Again this is quite situational. but usually I won't just give up here.
Villian could have a 8, a overpair, two overs, a midpair, or even a T. He
probably continued his slow play if he had 88/TT (this is very common in 1/2
game). So here I see two options, (1) call and re-evaluate the hand on the
turn if I know villian would likely shut down when turn card didn't help him
. (2) raise and fold to 4 bet. The purpose of raising is to force villian to
fold the hands in his lower range (like two overs / midpair / a T / or even
JJ). Since those hands were big part of his range, I saw quite significant
folding equity.

I folded here. This is the first hand I play with him. If the villain has an
overpair or 99 or underpair ("his lower range", it makes sense to be
betting out on the flop. But he didn't. Slow playing a big hand is more
likely. It certainly depends on what type of player he is but I didn't have
any information then. Later on, he seems pretty tight preflop.
