poker is such a great game we're all trying to get better in. yes, there're
levels/aspects one might be better than the other in some situations, so?
there're still plenty of other things we do wrong/not optimal everyday.
look at fcf, he's no doubt a great player with tons of experiences. he doesn
't water much here at all but each time he speaks out, he's trying to make a
real point or help us understand something in a modest way. or look at
david chiu, he would take our invitation, show up on time, and play a peanut
game with us, just to promote a healthy and learning environment among us
chinese players.
yes, as players, we all have egos and even most of time, we don't really
agree with each other, but that only makes us think more about the game, not
to laugh at others. if you think your play is better (in one case), then it
's also beneficial to see how the "worse" players think/act, so next time at
the table, you can maximize your profit. or if you don't agree now, it
doesn't mean 5 months later, you realize it's indeed a good play...... and
so on.

How the argument got started? Nothing but sb post hand history and sb jumped
in saying "you played it bad, etc." and orginal poster disagreed and
thought the other side sucked.
IMO, the best way to settle it is on the table. All the discussions are nice
, but less convincing because it is on paper, not in practical. You pay less
respect to sb who can only talk, full of theories, because you haven't play
with him/her before. But you have to give respect to sb who constantly
beats you. You have to pay attention to whom you think tough to play against
. "You know why you play this hand bad? Because I just took your whole stack
!" has whole alot of meanings to the person than you just try to explain
them on papaer.
And sure, no things are optimal in poker world, but there are indeed
diffenrences between better and worse. Long terms, better plays always win.
Let us see who is the better one.
I also think it will be a good idea we start our weekly tourny again in PS
Home game playing money. Joiners has to deposit buyin ($10?) one day in adv
to third party, top 2 paid. this way, more martirial to discuss every week.

better player than we could imagine.
there're always better players out there, but why ppl have to judge others
play in such a destructive way and tone? to make ourselves feel better or
superior, even just by a few inches? the reality might well be, that we'll
NEVER see own shortcomings.

我非常赞成多打指导赛，交流赛，但是用输赢来把人kickout，这种想法too simple，
sometimes naive。
大家都年纪不小了，别争了行不，还有其他哥们儿，玩笑贴请注明，呵呵
我的两分钱：
1 论坛的性质决定了，拳头大小和能不能说话是两回事

when i first started, i called $12 once with 8Ts at cutoff, button called
too as well as one MP.
flop was unforgretable: 679 rainbow.
EP bet $30 or so, MP called, i raised to $100 the ABC way, LP gave me this
weird look and murmured to me if he should call with two pair... he laid
down, EP called, MP called.
turn Q: EP shoved $300+ directly, MP called, i happily called.
river blank.
EP 99, MP QQ, i took a 1K+ pot and QQ got a tiny side pot.

其实tourney经常final table 能看到鱼，即使是大型比赛，所以看的时候要选择看
比如这次WSOP那个巴西人，还有Belize人，都比较鱼了
另外还有之前有人贴的PS Sunday Million有一个亚军，一星期把奖金15万输光了

1 'Try and build a stack early otherwise you're going to find yourself
having to shove all-in to survive, and you don't want to do that. It's
definitely worth taking some risks to achieve this. You might have to shove
all-in as a bluff sometimes or risk chips, but it's the best way to ensure a
deep run. Don't be afraid of going out early.'
2 'The more hands you play early on the more reads you'll be able to get,
and attacking limpers in position is a good way to get chips. I think the
earlier into the tournament that you start doing this the better!'
3 'I'll never limp in if I'm first to enter a pot, but I'll open pretty much
any suited connector, any pair, or any two broadway cards. When blinds are
low it's only costing 60 chips or so. If someone calls then you can make a
continuation bet on the flop. Often this will get opponents to fold, but if
not, you're not going to be putting a lot of money in the pot unless you hit
something big.'
4 'At the beginning of tournaments, opening to three times the big blind is
standard. But as the tournament progresses there's a trend now to open for 2
.5 times the big blind or less. But when should you change? It depends on
your stack and the average stack. If I have more than 40 big blinds and the
average is more than 40 big blinds, I'll open for 3x, but if it's less I'll
make it 2.5x, and if both of those figures are about 20 big blinds or less
sometimes I'll just make it 2x.'
5 'Position is crucial, especially when used in conjunction with picking up
weaknesses on other players. Look at their betting patterns and what they've
done when they show down a weak hand or a strong hand and take advantage of
what they're doing.
6 'Generally I'll never fold to a shove if I open a pot when I've got less
than 15 big blinds. I know people don't like to do it, but now and again it'
s possible to find a fold. For example, if you've got a stack of 12 big
blinds and raise to 2.5x only to get shoved on by a really tight player who
you know is never shoving light, then you might have to consider folding,
unless you've got a real hand of course.'
7 'The presence of antes in play doesn't make a huge difference to the hands
I play. I might be more inclined to open suited connectors just because
there's more in the pot, but that goes for every hand really. Don't worry
about the better odds the blinds are getting to call with antes in play,
because you want them to call! You'll have position on them for the rest of
the hand and they'll miss the flop two out of three times, meaning you'll
often pick up the pot with a continuation bet.'
8 'Once antes are in play don't start opening for 4x or 5x simply because
you want to give the blinds worse odds. What if they raise and you have to
fold? That sucks. You'll get the exact same result by raising to 2.5x. Also,
if you open for more and get called, you'll have to make your c-bets bigger
and put a larger percentage of your stack in on future streets, when you're
likely to be up against bigger hands.'
9 'Increasing your stack in line with the rising blinds during the middle
stages of tournaments is tough. One effective course of action is to three-
bet pre-flop. On that basis it pays to be aware of who is raising a lot and
who is tight. Also, be aware of your own table image, as if you have a crazy
image you're liable to get shoved on lighter.'
10 'In online tournaments the bubble is overrated - nowadays everyone knows
what you're up to so be very careful!'

stack，suited connector, pocket pair 都有不错的equity。position 在early
stage更重要。 player推荐的那些tips挺好的。不过live和online有点区别就是
multiway pot更多点，在c-bet的处理上我觉得要灵活点。

and play pretty much following his small ball style. It is similar to cash
game in early stage though.
But my middle-late stage MTT game are just horrible. I think mainly
over tight , always waiting for better spot.
Guess I need get a chance to learn from cmis91 sometime.
