coach told me that i've out grown this racket and should change to a racket
with longer swing style like L3, L4 or equivalent, and perhaps denser string
pattern.
i just joined a demo program and here is my question: should i have a longer
term view and find a racket that feels slightly heavier and requires more
swing than my comfort zone? my concern is that if i get one that i am very
comfortable with, i may out grow it again in a year |

handle it for the rest of your life...
Buy an L4 (Radical) or L3 (Instinct or Extreme).

2)通常来说，throat豁得越开，力量越大。偶有一支拍子是这样的，很杯具。

it is 8 oz heavier.
basically, my coach told me that since both my swing and forehand top spin
have improved, i need to bring in more control. she also mentioned that the
string should be in contact with the ball for longer time to generate more
spin. that's why i am also testing different string patterns. it appears
that prestige has denser pattern. |

he uses a Head Liquid Metal Radical MP mold with custom materials.
L3 with 16/19 is most likely an Extreme, but can also be the
newest Instinct. You probably meant 0.8 oz heavier.
Multiple Head models have dense string patterns (18x20). It does
not have direct relationship with the swing ratings. E.g.,
Prestige MP is 18x20, while Prestige Pro is 16x19. Prestige Mid,
btw, has the densest string pattern (18x20 on 90 sq in) among all
current retail rackets.
Denser string pattern means more control, i.e., less power.

Everything equal, Open string pattern is better for spin and power, but
response could be less predictable than a dense string pattern.
It's all depends on your game, you a baseliner/spin game? all court game?
counter-puncher? like stiff feel? soft feel?
for now, Just buy the heaviest one you can handle and forget about the rest.
