来自主题: Tennis版 - experience with changing to new racket
I just want to share some of my personal experience related to changing
racket recently.
I had been using Head Speed Youtek for 2 years and early this year my coach
suggested that I should change to a new racket for better control. So I
joined a demo program and started trying out the new Head rackets. I thought
at time that since I had been using Head rackets, continuing with Head
would be the nature course.
My coach made another suggestion which later turned out to be the most

Shaft stiffness / flexibility explained
Since I know a lot about golf and equipment, the same analogy would be
made about badminton rackets. And as there seems to be conflicting notions
about shaft flexibility ( http://www.badmintoncentral.com/foru...ad.php?t=39773 ), I thought it would be interesting in explaining my view on shaft flexibility.
Generally speaking, choosing a racket with the correct shaft flexibility

Don't know anything about this Price DB850. Looks really light to me, I don

besides - why the obsession with Martina's racket? My guess is no, she

There is no racket that "needs a guy at least 5.0 or 5.5".
Even 1.0 can use a pro racket. No racket is as heavy as 1 lb
and every normal human has the strength to swing a 1 lb racket.
I can also guarantee you a 3.0 player using a so-called 5.0/5.5
racket can beat any 2.0 player, no matter what racket that 2.0
uses.

Usually 12+oz, 95-100 sq in racket will feel more demanding than
12.5 oz, 90 sq in racket.
Smaller racket face == less air friction.
Small racket face == thinner beam can achieve higher stiffness.
(i.e., to be same stiff, MP rackets have to be thicker, which
causes even more air friction for topspin.)

i think the reason that you started feeling better when you lowered the

you don't generate enough power yourself and that's probably why you feel

poweful hammer racket and improve your swing to generate power on your own

It doesn't make 100% sense because there are exceptions.
For me, a 85 sq. in. racket works much better than a 110
racket when playing with a lower level opponent. The low power
is what I need in that situation to avoid unforced errors.
I am a 3.0 player.
It basically depends on the player's style. I don't deny the

None of the rackets you mentioned is even close to the 12+oz range.
The fact that 12+oz MP rackets aren't that many already tells you
something. All the popular MPs are below 12 oz, like Blade, Prestige,
Extreme, Pure Storm, EXO3 Tour, etc.
the 12.6 oz, 10 pt HL Pro Kennex Destiny (similar shape as APD),
is the most difficult racket to swing fast that I've tried.
