1I just want to share some of my personal experience related to changing
I had been using Head Speed Youtek for 2 years and early this year my coach
suggested that I should change to a new racket for better control. So I
joined a demo program and started trying out the new Head rackets. I thought
at time that since I had been using Head rackets, continuing with Head
would be the nature course.
My coach made another suggestion which later turned out to be the most

3I would never think of buying a new racket because my old racket's string
broke... that doesn't make much sense to me if you like the feel of your
old racket - why not just restring your old racket?
Don't know anything about this Price DB850. Looks really light to me, I don
't like big and light rackets, but you may. What's your Head racket's model?
besides - why the obsession with Martina's racket? My guess is no, she
never played with this model. This seems more like a beginner racket to
4Today, finally i broke my tennis racket string which i bought back to 1993.
i used my partner's Prince racket, feel very good, he mentioned it was
Martina Navratilova's racket
Does anyone know the full name (model) of Martina Navratilova's racket?
i am using Head now, 4.1/4, his is 4.3/8, how come i feel a lot bigger the
BTW, i need to replace my Head racket string, my head racket says: the pound

5There is no racket that "needs a guy at least 5.0 or 5.5".
Even 1.0 can use a pro racket. No racket is as heavy as 1 lb
and every normal human has the strength to swing a 1 lb racket.
I can also guarantee you a 3.0 player using a so-called 5.0/5.5
racket can beat any 2.0 player, no matter what racket that 2.0
6Usually 12+oz, 95-100 sq in racket will feel more demanding than
12.5 oz, 90 sq in racket.
Smaller racket face == less air friction.
Small racket face == thinner beam can achieve higher stiffness.
(i.e., to be same stiff, MP rackets have to be thicker, which
causes even more air friction for topspin.)
7Rackets won't win you games - how you use your own racket will...
You can have 50 different kind of rackets and change to a different one
after every point, you will still lose to a better player with a wood racket
. Simple as that...
8Ping-pong Racket-Shaped Hotel to be Built in Huainan
by Zha Xuan
A 150-meter-tall hotel which is shaped like a ping-pong racket will be built
in Huainan City, among a series of stadium constructions.
The hotel is planned to be located in a sports park covering an area of over
1,000 mu, along with other four buildings, which are under construction,
namely, an Amercian football-shaped main stadium, a volleyball-shaped
natatorium, a football-shaped gym stadium and a basketball-shaped stadium.

9My friend just get a new racket from fogdog
website which is Hyper Hammer 2.3 Stretch Racquet
with a very good deal Racket + Gut string only $198.
( He use a coupon before 8/15.)
I play with him yesterday and he became invincible.
He also let me try his racket for a while and
all I have to say is this one is very good at both
control and power. He made the string to max pounds
(60lb). I was destoried to dust.
10I want to play some serious tennis but would like to find a suitable racket
first. I would rate my self as an intermediate. Does this mean that I need
to get a tweener racket? Many people would think only girls use such rackets
. I have a Wilson hammer H and it beca,e too powerful for me on return and
volley. So I got an i radical for the cheap price ($ 60 prestrung). It was
too demanding for me at first so I went back to Hammer. Recently I restung
the radical at 58 lbs and started to like it, b
11i think the reason that you started feeling better when you lowered the
tension is the racket is more powerful than it was... it seems to me that
you don't generate enough power yourself and that's probably why you feel
more comfortable with the hammer... maybe you want to stick with your more
poweful hammer racket and improve your swing to generate power on your own
rather than rely on the racket... when you feel the hammer gives you too
much power and ball starts to fly, you'll feel a lot m

13Oh don't get me wrong - i love demoing new rackets... Everytime I see a new
interesting racket, I want to try it! To put it nicely, we are always
looking for easy ways to improve our game - and you can't get much easier
than pop in a new racket and suddenly find out you can hit all your shots!
But to put it bluntly, sometimes we are just looking for excuses to our poor
performance - and it's much easier on our ego to blame it on our freaking
equipment than our lack of abilities.
So I continue
14just had tennis drills and dinner with Eddie, who introduced Dennis
to play with me last nite whose racket i had borrowed after my string
Eddie told me Dennis played USTA before, he was rated 3.5.
How could i beat Dennis 6:0 last nite using his own racket? anyway
i am glad now that i ordered that racket today!
15No I don't think so. I have NEVER felt that by switching to a racket I
suddenly feel like I can beat the other player if the people who I have
played who are close to my level - I still win some and I still lose some.
When I switched from my PS6.1c to my MGPM, I don't think I won more because
of my racket - sometimes I hit good and my partner hit poorly - so I win,
sometimes I hit poorly and my partner hit well - so I lose.
I can never say that my racket is what won my game for me - it's how I
true, just a lot of guys spend so much $$ on rackets before their
levels are far away from controling those rackets.
if i say: 85 sq inches rackets are not good for anyone below 4.5
does it make sense?
17It doesn't make 100% sense because there are exceptions.
For me, a 85 sq. in. racket works much better than a 110
racket when playing with a lower level opponent. The low power
is what I need in that situation to avoid unforced errors.
I am a 3.0 player.
It basically depends on the player's style. I don't deny the
possibility that for best performance, most people should go with
oversize racket and play pusher -- it will get you the furthest.
(Doesn't work for me though, who needs to finish the ... 阅读全帖
18None of the rackets you mentioned is even close to the 12+oz range.
The fact that 12+oz MP rackets aren't that many already tells you
something. All the popular MPs are below 12 oz, like Blade, Prestige,
Extreme, Pure Storm, EXO3 Tour, etc.
the 12.6 oz, 10 pt HL Pro Kennex Destiny (similar shape as APD),
is the most difficult racket to swing fast that I've tried.
19It's not guaranteed that you'll like it. The difference is
medium. Your current racket is a baseline racket, much more
powerful than BLX95.
Ben a video with your current racket, we may get a better idea.
20i've been using head speed elite (swing style = L1) for a year. recently my
coach told me that i've out grown this racket and should change to a racket
with longer swing style like L3, L4 or equivalent, and perhaps denser string
i just joined a demo program and here is my question: should i have a longer
term view and find a racket that feels slightly heavier and requires more
swing than my comfort zone? my concern is that if i get one that i am very
comfortable with, i may out grow it ... 阅读全帖

i suggest you get 4 1/4 grip size, string and tension is very subjective to
personal preference, you just have to try it out.

totally sure about it) in GGBC on Saturday. It looked like I string that

35IS it legal to change to a different racket during a match?
in table tennis, No!
i saw the prof.s changed, but they suppose to change ONLY after the string
is broken or racket is damaged?
also if they change, do they have to change to the same brand/model one?
37of course what u said is correct
if the level margin is big enough, but for 2 guys who are
close in level, racket does MAKE difference, agree?
38I bought this racket two years ago when I was a beginner (of course, I am
still a beginner now. hehe) just because it has a large head area and very
light. When I looked back, I am not 100% sure whether these features helped
me improve or otherwise. I still use it as a backup after I bought K90 (
another extreme, small head area, very heavy).
One thing for sure is that when I use this racket, the serves and flat hits
are crazily faster. The price is that you have much less control. And it is

if a 3.5 guy using a pro racket to play a 3.5 guy, he would have
less chance to win since he could not control the racket well..
obviously he would miss more shots than he supposed to.
44When people rate a used racket n/10, what does it mean?
e.g., 7/10, what should I expect?
How would you rate the following racket?
45I mean the rackets they ACTUALLY use and the actual size of the racket.
There might be some slight errors.
46Aglee. It depends on your style.
e.g. 伊达公子 is 160cm, 41 years old woman. Her racket is 13.5 oz.
Her style is completely vintage and never hits topspin.
I use pure eastern grip. For me heavier/smaller/less powerful racket
works better (to reduce UE).

48always go with 3/9 or 10/2. Never do 12 unless for cosmetic purpose
(it's more beautiful since the lead can hide under bumper guard).
Also, changing balance is a very bad idea. The racket will feel
completely different. You have been warned.
If you still want to continue, try 5g at a time. (changes about
1 point in balance. Your racket is 7 point head light)
50Haha, for some players, none of the racket will stay with them for years...
They changes rackets every year or every other year...
