and on the way back down, i could only manage 10min/mi, because of
the steepness and the difficult footing. my butts really got kicked.
now i understand more why ultras like WS100 are so tough, it's the distance,
the elevation and the terrain. If you want to finish within 24 hours,

Colorado. It was extremely tough, combining steep grades with 12,000+ ft
altitude. Hardrock 100 would be of that kind of condition for the entire 100
miles.
