warmup. My mile split is about 7:15 7:25 7:30. I have to say it is not a
very easy run and I feel tired especially for the second mile.
Sometimes, I also did a 5 mile without any warmup. My pace is almost a
constant 7:30. I feel noticeably better through the whole course. Actually,
I feel better and better towards the end.
The weird thing is that 7:20 isn't too faster than 7:30. Why I feel so
different?
Does this mean that | w****1 发帖数: 4931 | 2 Oh yeah, the 10K race pace is the comfort threshold. even 10 seconds per
mile faster than that pace will make you extremely uncomfortable. 5K is
usually a more painful race than the 10K.

second, I do not think someone is more suitable for a 10K compared to a 5K
except those pros.
If you want to participate in a race, either 5K or 10K is fine since you can
finish it with no problem.
Question is, how fast do you want to run?
If you do want to run faster, especially the 5K, you need to do some awful
speed sessions. Just repeat 400m
sprints 8 times or more and then your speed will be improved.

| w****1 发帖数: 4931 | 6 You can look up a standard race predictor. 10 mi or HM are "easy" distances
to race, because it is easy to set a good pace. You may suffer at the very
end but for most part you will be pretty comfortable. This is quite unlike
5K in which you have to push yourself from the start.

| a*********h 发帖数: 306 | 7 I am a junk mile lover. In fact, any distance > 1k is my weakest sports item
at college (although I still manage to get 100 points for 1K and all other
standard tests such as 100M, shotput).
My purpose of running/jogging now is just to keep shape/health/work
efficiency. So I don't want to push myself too much in a competitive manner.
But I do read your posts and running tips to see how I can better use my
body and improve my running skills so that even with junk miles I can still
run longer, fas
