I don't know why it's so popular here in the US to do the radioactive iodine
uptake. The whole thing just doesn't sound right to me, although I know
that it has been done for a long long time.

the other is for therapy, may cause hypothroidism, I supposed what you were
talking about was the latter, right?

stimulating immunoglobulin) is high, thyroid peroxidase antibody is also
high, and thyroid globulin antibody is slghtly higher than normal.
From what I've read, TSI indicates Graves, and the peroxidase antibody
signifies Hashimito's. So do I have both? Which they say is rare but could
happen, and it's called Hashitoxicosis. My doctor (a really nice doctor, but

means nothing.
TSI is more specific than peroxidase antibody.
some symptoms like eye's signs are specific in grave's disease.
You can not have both of hashimoto's and grave's, they are totally different

I know it sounds wierd to have both Grave's and Hashimoto's. But there are
medical researchers who think that a lot of these deseases defined by
symptoms, hormone levels or the pesence of antibodies are actually the same
pathological response or caused by similar mechanisms. So hyper- and hypo-,
or Grave's and Hashimoto's can co-exist in one person, but dominate at
different times. Although severe cases are rare, mild cases a

| c********e 发帖数: 496 | 11 This is where the physicians and researchers differ.
physician seldom considers the rare case in the literature as one of the
differentials initially, while researcher does.
In your case, as I said, the antibody is not super specific for the Dx of
Hashimoto's.
You have excessive thyroid hormone in your blood for sure, but why?
For grave's, the thyroid gland cell is stimulated by TSI, producing more
hormone, but for Hashimoto's, the inflammation breaks the thyroid gland
cells and release the horm |
