level. Did't use it purposefully, however in thoses kids with asthma attack, we always check potassium level if he/she is
put under continuous albuteral treatment due to concern about hypocalcemia. |

发帖数: 217 | 6 The mechanism of albuterol to lower K is albuterol increases glucose,
glucose increases insulin. It works like insulin plus glucose. The dose you
need is about 20 to 30 mg . It will take about 30 mins to work and last
about 2 hours. It will lower K about 1 meq. You need to realize that the
normal albuterol MDI is about 90 mcg per puff, the normal albutero you use
through nebulizer is 2.5 to 5 mg per dose. It will take 15 mins to complete
one neb treatment. You can use it along with other methods to lower the K.
But never be the primary method. |
