Just want ask.
the card fellow one is more competitive and hard, so maybe card first.
IM x3 yrs

Neuro x3 yrs
the same yrs if u go ahead direct into like cardecho or intervention
IM x3 yrs
Card x3 yrs
Echo/PCI 2~3yrs
but I don't know what special job you could do after you finish both?
any suggestion?

their respective practices

发帖数: 60 | 4 Card is the old school field of well-evidenced therapy and treatment
However the Neuro part is the used called Dx-only specialty, even now there
are still huge unknowns waiting to reveal.
I have passion in both of them. that's why i ask.
thx for your concern, they aren't overlap much indeed for sure, but I hope I
could find a pattern in relate to both of them.
For example, as there is troponin in heart, is there will be any enzymes in
brain during stroke?
They also have a lot in common, TPA for both ischemia treatment, MS in the
brain is just as immunogenic myocarditis.

Hope I could still keep this ambition and not wear out in rusting body
during residency.

投入是要有产出的。cardio fellow plus general neurology(neurology has it's
fellowships too)能够给你多少产出？
如果真的很nerd,有那时间,砍掉一个，去上三年law school拿个JD吧：）。

发帖数: 67 | 9 hehe, it's good for you to have a passion in different fields. however the
association you described b/t cardio & neuro is quite loose, and can be said
with any 2 organ systems.
if you haven't had any hands-on experience with the two fields, try having
some clinical encounters to help you make a decision. A more viable way for
you, instead of going through two specialties trainings, is to "de-
specialize", just become a general internist or a family physician, so you
get to see and manage pts with CV or neuro problems

年。
年轻就是好，可以折腾。 |

cardio太吃苦了

现在medicare/medicaid只sponsor你的第一个residency.做完一个想做第二个，很不容
易找到第二个residency program take u unless u r very exceptional.
