Job description
Position Title: Staff Software Engineer
Location: Milpitas, CA
The Company:

highly sophisticated cyber attacks easily circumvent traditional signature-
based defenses, such as next-generation firewalls, IPS, anti-virus, and
gateways. The FireEye Threat Prevention Platform provides real-time, dynamic
threat protection without the use of signatures to protect an organization
across the primary threat vectors and across the different stages of an
attack life cycle. The core of the FireEye platform is a virtual execution
engine, complemented by dynamic threat intelligence, to identify and block
cyber attacks in real time. FireEye has over 4,000 customers across 67
countries, including more than 650 of the Forbes Global 2000.
The Role:
Propose and lead architecture design, system implementation, and development
of performance KPIs for system that manages massive amounts of
transactional data. This is a hands-on role that involves implementation,
testing, documentation and release to production activities.
Responsibilities:
Build interfaces to ingest the data and move the data across systems
Design orchestration of parallel data processing
Own development, documentation, and implementation of one or more
components in big data ecosystem:
Kafka
Spark Streaming
Cassandra
Hive
Requirements:
End to end implementation experience working on several big data
projects
Think in OO and experience in design and implementation of horizontal
scalable systems
Expert at troubleshooting service performance and improve service
operation matrix
Fluency in one or more languages ( JAVA, Groovy, HiveQL, CQL, pig,
Python), Linux shell scripting, SQL
Experience in Tiered Web application service
Familiarity with Big Data ecosystem – HDFS, Hive, HBase, Cassandra,
Kafka. Hands on experience that involves design, data quality management,
production operations of big data solutions.
Experience managing production level applications running massive data
flows.
