balance! Say, you opted for $1200 to put in your FSA for 2014. But this is
only January, you FSA account balance is 0 (or $100). Guess what? you can
spend all of the $1000 NOW before you leave your current company. It is
totally legal.

My company is on fiscal year. I have spent more than the amount that I opted
to put into the account. For example, I spent 700 but I opted 500 for my
FSA account a year. assuming my account only has 300 balance so far, can I
reimburse up to 500? Just submit a reimburse request to the agency? How to
make it happen?

| n*******h 发帖数: 67 | 5 YES. Your company put the whole $500 in your FSA on day one of the fiscal
year. You can get reimbursement up to $500 on any day in that year. In other
words, you can spend all $500 before you put 1 cent in FSA.
BTW, if you leave your company and spend all FSA money, your company can't
get it back from your paychecks (as there will no no more paychecks), so
they lose the money. This is how it works.
