如果单纯以director来看，工资应该是很高，但以你的描述加楼上的分析，很难衡量。
当然，我没经验，不清楚，呵呵。

the engineers, but the VP might have more stock options/profit sharing.

我有个邻居由某大公司降很多工资而跳去一个startup，期望它能上市，但几年过去，
看见的希望越来越少，已经心灰意懒了……

outside, if you actually work there, in as little as a couple of
months, you can pretty much tell whether it is going to hit it big or
not. If your neighbor was already somewhat seasoned before joining, but
somehow failed to realize the company was going nowhere, it's kind of
his fault for not being sensitive enough to the risks involved in
working at a startup.

hang out with the marketing guy as much as you can because he is very
likely the one that makes or breaks the company.
