Process Chemist
Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
· Conduct lab and small pilot reactions in line with the needs of
the Market Support and Product Development.
· Perform laboratory operations of distillation, drying, liquid-
liquid extraction, stripping, and purification etc.
· Assist in the development and scale-up of processes to the
manufacturing scale.
· Organize and report performance data to the Principal Scientist,
Sales & Marketing and/or Manufacturing personnel.
· Develop laboratory test methods that correlate to standardized
tests independently or in consultation with the Principal Scientist.
· Write technical reports to summarize experimental work (customer
reports, monthly reports)
· Contribute to the development of technical articles,
presentations, technical data sheets and other literature related to flame
retardant products
· Maintain all lab equipment in good working order. Maintain lab
chemical inventory.
· Maintain safe and compliant conditions within lab and participate
in Ardsley site's safety and responsible care programs
Required Skills:
· BS/MS Degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering with a strong
background in organic synthesis.
· Self motivated and able to work in cross functional teams
· Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational
skills, flexibility, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Required Experience:
· 1+ years hands on lab experience in a product development/
application chemistry laboratory setting
· Experience in using and interpreting NMR, IR
· Experience with GC, MS, HPLC, acid/base titrations
· Familiarity with current GMP and ISO regulations and comfort
working in a highly structured, documented environment
· Familiarity with a wide range of laboratory equipments | F********y
