Boarding. Only the free baggage requires the UA card.
One biggest plus I think about the UA card is to see XN award tickets, which
double the amount of awards you can see. Been successful getting XN tickets
during peak seasons, making the miles really worthwhile. This is THE reason
I'm still keeping the card for a few years... |

2 major reasons. 1) it is 6pts per dollar for Marriott hotels. 2) Marriott
and SPG are merged, more hotels choices at all levels; 3) $85 fee but will
get a free night at category 1-5, so is good.
I spent $240 last week in Marriotts-Courtyard, not sure why, but I got more
than 2700 points, more than I expected. Not sure what triggers it, but nice. |

My feeling:
1. If you apply through EB1B for faculty, green card is fast and easy.
2. I work at least half time at home. No complaints from colleagues.
3. It is not suggested that you have your next kid before you accomplish
something. I did it after I got two grants.
4. There will be one year of tenure-clock extension when you take maternity
leave. Maternity leave as faculty is full pay for a whole semester. You don'

BTW, most parents here don't have teenage kids, so just laugh about it if

There are boys/girls coming every year for short programs. A
cousin of one of my friends, a high-schooler, came earlier this
