出发地点: Frederick Watershed Hamburg Road parking lot; 39.515828,-77.492119
， 从270 15号出口到停车场大概30分钟。
路径:从parking lot 沿着Blue trail往南，左转上rusted bug；过马路到
Knucklebuster到Blue往北，过Enchanted Forest，穿过一个小池塘，沿Buck Flats回
到停车地点。大概 5 mile。这条路我经常骑车，很熟悉，但从来没有徒步过。所有路
径都是natural surface。要缩短路途的话，knuckle buster 后可以直接到停车场，大
概全程3迈。
注意事项:最好带bug spray，充足的水，看到熊的话掉头，尽量比你身边的同学跑得快。

。主要是告訴你大西雅圖地區的自來水是怎麼來的。－－－ 主要來自兩個集水區：
Cedar River Watershed 與 Tolt River Watershed，這兩區裡的河流裡的水都是山上
雪水而來。兩個河系中的大概只有 20% 的水量是拿來當自來水，其他的水必須讓他們
流入大海。河流中的水不能都用來飲用，必須留存適量的水，一是為了生態保護（如鮭
魚），二是為了讓永遠有適量的淡水流入 Puget Sound，不然海裡的鹹水會倒流進來。

发帖数: 10218 | 30 大一点的山基本上都在往西边的west Virginia 和 Virginia。像dingdingace 说的
Green Ridge 是马里兰伸到西部的一只脚。其他在马里兰也就是Catoctin 和
Frederick Watershed 有一点海拔。Sugarloaf 规模小了一点。Frederick Watershed
从山脚到山顶1000英尺的落差。加上Gambrill State Park应该至少有 40 miles 的
trails，还不包括一直往北到catoctin的trail。除了blue trail，其他都没有标志。
不过如果熟悉用GPS导航的话，许多trails还是能从open street map上查到。Gambrill
park里基本上都有blazed。
平时随便散散步的话在蒙郡的一些地方都不错，论上下高度的话，Little Bennett还不
错，风景的话绕Clopper Lake一圈或者沿着Seneca Greenway 都可以。像 cwh 那样喜

，版上知名的瓦丘塞水库的水多来源于夸本水库。夸本，瓦丘塞，康河乃麻州淡水鱼类
三大宝地，如何排名次各有各的看法。
夸本水库位置偏僻，野生资源保护良好，经常有美国国鸟白头鹰的出没，风景一流，水
质清澈，心旷神怡。此水库的鱼种同W水库差不多，温水鱼种小嘴鲈鱼为主要目标鱼，
据说也有墙眼出没，麻州最大的墙眼州记录是出自此水库。不过，近期没有钓到墙眼的
证据。麻州的水质偏酸，不适合墙眼的繁殖。此水库有三个租船码头。我以前去过三次
，最近10来年没去过了。租的铝皮船尺寸不小，有一辆面包车的长度，二个人钓鱼没有
问题，三个人就有点挤。船上装配的是5HP的马达，大约5加仑的汽油，用一天钓鱼不会
耗尽燃油。
钓鱼难度指数较高。租的船没有电动马达没有声纳系统，属于看地形的盲钓。夸本水库
有其独特的气候，外面是微风熏人，湖上可能是波涛汹涌。基本战略是“移动岸钓”，
离岸边不要太远，一偏离湖岸线，谁知道会不会在水深100来尺的地方玩波趴。我个人
觉得大小嘴鲈鱼资源不会比瓦丘塞水库好，但是每年都有人钓到5-6磅级别的小嘴，6-8... 阅读全帖 |

some opennings in this field at least this year (UConn is an example). I know
TA Endreny (SUNY ESF) and Eric Wood (Princeton) have been working on the P
problem before. Obviously, there are tons of people working on the nitrogen
problem. Personally I think people will tend to incorporate hydrology, GIS, RS
into watershed studies. just my 2 cents.
