上来请教一下姐妹们。女宝6个半月，一直跟我在家里。最近想趁她认生前送到family
day care，去参观了几个，目前还比较满意其中的一个。两周后可能会开始。我比较倾
向于直接full time，宝宝能在比较fixed的日程上。但是看到华人上一个讨论帖说直接
full time会有night terror，参与讨论的都是大宝宝上day care。
有没有6-7个月送day care的妈妈出来讲讲，我是不是直接full time会很伤宝宝的感情
呢？

发帖数: 275 | 2 我家老大4岁多点，每次一被time out就撒泼打滚痛哭流涕抓着大人的腿不撒手，得拖
着去time out的地方。硬掰开她的手又怕把她弄疼了，因为她抱腿的劲儿很大，结果是
不得不和他一起呆在角落里，没有完全做到time out，虽然效果是有的。每次之后过一
段时间也能平静下来承认错误，可还是有点头疼，我都快对time out她有心理障碍了。。
不过也要表扬她有时很大人样很sweet,妹妹抓她的头发也不还手，陪妹妹玩。前几天妹
妹起玫瑰疹，姐姐从幼儿园一回来就问：妹～，起小疹疹了？和姨姥姥玩过家家，动辄
就称呼姨姥姥为老公，自称老婆，汗！对话都是：“老公，孩子们（就是她的洋娃娃）
一直找爸爸爸爸，我说，都和你们说了多少遍了，你们的爸爸呀，回中国了！（姨姥姥
刚从这里回中国）”。昨天她爸爸让她time out了，她哭了一阵子，后来和我说：爸爸
说我不听话就不喜欢我了，我说：”我是你的大女儿，你怎么能不喜欢我？你不喜欢我
我就离家出走”。后来又和她爸爸说：“我呢，已经知道自己那样不对了，你就不要再
说了！我以后呢，也听话，你呢，尽量不要time out我”。。。感觉话都被她说完了。

先介绍一下背景：
儿子两岁三个月，一岁半上幼儿园，在学校是个乖孩子，至少老师是这么说的。
在家全中文，在学校全英文，其实他就能说点单字，句子完全不行。但是我和老师都认
为他完全听的懂中文和英文。
具体事例如下：
周日中午，我做饭，他在自己的play area玩，（厨房隔壁）。玩着玩着人家来看我，
然后就开始用牙啃门。我提醒了三四次，但是人家还是继续啃，于是我只好说：妈妈不
喜欢你啃门，不要再啃了，再啃就要被time out了。当然，我是用坚定的冷静的语气，
看着他的眼睛说的，但是人家听了以后，立刻笑嘻嘻的看着我又啃了一口。
鉴于我已经说再啃要time out, 所以也顾不得已经是吃饭时间了，就把他放在了time
out的椅子上。
人家先是漫不经心，等意识到老妈是来真的以后就开始大哭。
我就是和他解释为什么会被time out, 然后告诉他，如果听明白了，就点点头，我就放
他下来。（点头这个动作他一岁就会了）
但是人家就是倔强的不肯点头，一直大哭。叫我解开（time out的椅子有安全带，他自
己解不开）。

使吃到了，也是冒了极大的风险的，单边吃time decay（裸卖option）一般是
unlimited risk，风险相对较低的大家常用的covered call也有股票暴跌甚至归零的风
险。于是，如何降低风险赚Time value就成了一个课题。
这里我举个无法实际操作的例子，以防蝌蚪们盲从。例子只是给大家提供一种操作思路
，是完完全全的理论。
众所周知，FAS，FAZ是3x Financial ETF，一般不支持长期hold，因为终究是要归零的
，所以如果操作，一定要快进快出，坚决止损，切不可buy and hope。原则上不建议新
手参与任何有关FAS，FAZ的操作。
那么，既然这两个ETF是decay的，并且运动方向相反，如果相等balance并同时烧不就
可以赚到钱了么？对于相对稳定的市场，这是正确的。但是，一旦单向movement超过20
%，这个strategy就会出现问题，因为两个short的balance已经严重不平衡，不能互相

我现在是OPT，快到期了，还没有找到full-time. 但是我的一个朋友有个小公司（以前
没办过h1b,什么也不知道），可以给我一个part-time job。所以我想办个part-time
h1b。我上网查了，知道不能超过30hrs/week（没有最低要求，但是要好多余10小时）,
要超过最低工资标准。其它貌似就没什么要求了，但是我还有些疑问，
1，怎么证明公司pay 我多少钱？我工作多少小时？以前我也给他干过，他只是直接把
钱打到账户里，没有什么pay check,或者记录之类的。不知道我需要保留什么东西。
2，part-time h1b申请和full-time一样么？4月开始申请，10月有效，占名额么？
3，以后想换full-time h1b容易么？
4，估计我要自己找律师申请h1b，我在三藩地区，不知道有没有推荐的律师。

我朋友目前是在一个小公司实习，不是full time employment，OPT在今年7月中旬结束
，跟公司说要在4月之前帮她申请h1B，可是公司说四月份申请的时候不大可能直接给她
full time的工资，但是说10月之前可能会full time雇佣她，给她full time的工资和
保险什么的。
她想问问大家，在四月份申请h1b的时候，是不是公司只要提供一个从10月开始full
time工作的offer就可以了？不一定要在4月申请的时候证明已经给她full time
employment？

希望把工作交接一下；过了几个小时又来跟我说还有没有counter offer的机会。
我说新公司已经办好签证手续，我不想让他们浪费已经付出的efforts, 老板表示理解；
紧接着老板又问愿不愿意考虑part-time remote 工作，他说对我的工作非常认可，对
我有信心完成project，还说让我考虑一下，周一再谈细节。
我现在觉得part-time remote 倒是可能，但是难处是不可能每天早上按时电话参加例
会（10-15分钟），毕竟新工作是full time, 而且那个时间点应该也是在新公司工作的
，不想在新公司paid time里参加原公司的会议事务，虽然part-time对我来说安排时间
没问题，但是可能会有communication上的困难；两点好处就是额外的收入和身份的稳
定性（2个工作签证）
大家看看这part-time remote的机会能接吗？ |

一直在公司做part-time H1B，并且认为GC是针对未来职位。所以在part-time H1B的时
候申请了PERM, I-140并且都批了。而且在前一阵放水时，递交了I-485,已经拿到EAD/
AP。最近公司准备把我转成full-time H1B, 找律师做amended的时候， 律师说我早就
应该转成full-time.
急请教大家：
1. part-time H1B不可以申请I485吗？
2. 如果可以我的full-time H1B amended 会不会影响已经pending的I485?
3. 如果不可以， 那我现在有什么补救的办法吗？

了hourly file一个新的LCA, 然后一个月回到公司重新full time 律师说不用file新的
LCA了 用第二个就行了。 但是律师在file part time petition的时候说什么embassy
stamp. 所以想问下full time和part time回国签h1b有啥区别吗？(他现在一直是full
time不过没有file 第三个lca转会salary)
朋友已经写邮件给那个律师了，但是找不到人，所以想问问版上的朋友，他可以早点请

刚才俺才意识到问什么我以前在bash中用time cat filename > time.out 2>&1 (就是俺说
的把stderr重定向到stdout后再重定向到文件)行不通，原来是time认为它的参数是
cat filename > time.out 2&1，故而其输出根本就没有被重定向，而是cat的输出被重定
向了，FT!!!!! 现在强行规定了命令执行顺序就好了。
BTW I/O redirection in csh is not consistent with other shells, and csh itself
is not suitable to be used to write scripts, so I almost never use it. |

自交不亲和。一般是先根据同源性设计引物扩部分DNA片段， 然后测序再设计real-
time PCR的引物。拿到引物我会先将Wildtype plant的cDNA用普通PCR仪扩增试一下退
火温度并且跑胶检验40个循环后是否条带单一。确定是单一条带了，会进行大量real-
time实验（Biorad-sybr）。这时悲剧就发生了。有如下一些问题：
1. 同一种cDNA sample的3个技术重复，melting curve不同，有时全是单峰，但不重合
，相差很远；有时3个重复里有单峰也有多峰。
2. 不同cDNA sample之间（WT vs. TG 或者stress treatment at different time
points）melting curve不同，在某个sample里很好全是单峰，在另一sample里就乱了。
3. real-time后跑胶，的确很多带。可是之前用普通PCR扩增，相同program，跑胶是一
条带。

很多人都跟我说没有什么区别，包括我公司的vp也这么说。如果觉得part time没有
full time那么专的话，可以从工作经验下手。尽量做跳出实验室的工作，往business
那边靠。part time的很多人确实是混，可是只要你自己不混，有一个目标，象full
time看齐，不一定会差的。而且现在看3,4年以后的事太早。如果想往business方向转
，先进program再说，别学，别工作，别积极不断出去和人交流，慢慢就能确定最终的
方向。简单说，大方向明确，小方向慢慢来。没准读完出来，你都不在pharmaceutical
/biotech里混了。还有，多认识人，所参加活动，多和人交流，多听听他人建议，尤其
是过来人的，对你会有帮助。

最近因为搬家中断了Time Waner 的网络，一个月后收到讨债公司寄的Time Waner 的的
帐单（最后一个月的balance加百分之二十的罚款）。当时大吃一惊，信用至上的我第
一反应是电话付费。付费过后，才真反应过来，Time Waner 和讨债公司都太操蛋，我
们中断服务后，Time Waner 并没有给我们寄过帐单而是直接帐单寄给讨债公司并追加

发帖数: 1121 | 42 我倒觉得这跟现在的career plan关系不大，因为career planning常常改变的，特别是
读了HLS之后，选择完全不一样，眼界也不一样，对钱的看法，对自己career的期望值
和计划，都会很快改变。
我给你两条实在的建议：
1. 如果选择full time读书，就去Harvard，不要考虑其他学校的奖学金。理由同下。
所以要么HLS，要么就part time读书。
2. 在HLS和part time之间，我建议去读full time HLS。理由有三：
第一，在美国，有学位的话，整个career path和混的圈子都不一样，起点高很多，跟
没有学位在firm里面做specialist是不一样的，而且HLS的毕业生，自己努力的话，法
律之外也有很多选择。虽说事在人为，但是再不济，找一个小点的所，做个十几年还是
没问题的，没有学位或者读个本地的普通part time，你觉得你做合伙人的可能性有多
少，不做的话能挣多少钱？可能是完全不一样的数量级。特别是你提到你并不是超级牛
人，但是这两年申请人少，可能有lucky的成分，那这个机会就更难得。

习，然后pass RN，后1年半是可以去医院part-time，但我不知道国际生在之后1年半是否也
能像本地学生去医院part-time...
今早打去UCSF问，他们说国际生也可以，也说现在也有国际生在这个program里面读，
但我觉得他们在敷衍我，我知道对于F1 student的part-time工作有很多限制，
但真的搞不清我能否在此program后1年半到医院part-time?
如果不能，我只能选其他2年full-time的master entry program了... |

cmu pros:
1) 他们家的part-time和full-time一样对待,可以互相transfer.而nyu不行,我想在最后一年switch成full-time
2) class size, CMU part-time每年大概10人,而nyu part-time有90+人
3) cmu 对part-time也有career service,上resume book, 而nyu不行
4) reputation:据说cmu名声略好?不确定
nyu pros:
1) 学费便宜 ($45000 vs cmu $70000+)
2) 选课灵活,自己定,而cmu都给安排好了,安排得比较死
3) nyu更侧重math,我比较想多学学math,而cmu侧重business/computation
这两个都在nyc,地理区别不大.大家给给建议.. |

I'm sorry I didn't make myself clear when asking the question.
When I said "elapsed" time, I really meant CPU time,
because I/O time is useless in my computational comparisons.
The UNIX command, time, does measure CPU time. That's good.
But I can't measure the CPU time of PART of my program, the
"core" computations, using that command.
gprof is good for program optimization. However I think that
addition of debugging codes will alter the actual tim |

topics in detail except GARCH. This book will teach you to really understand
time series.
Or Introduction to Time Series and Forecasting by Brockwell. This book is
very practically oriented.
And Time Series Analysis: Forecasting & Control by box and Jenkins. This
book is one of the earliest pioneer work.

data censored at 1 year, 2 year, 3 years, 4 years etc. For example, for the
