我觉得记忆公式本身并不错，人总是用自己的长处，如果 phonological loop 更强大
，那显然记忆等差数列求和公式多块好省。
但 spatial / formal thinker，常常会觉得在大脑里，出现一个梯形，复制成两个，
然后对称拼出个矩形，然后利用其 clue 写出公式（当然遇上 AMC 12 不一定需要公式
，直接出答案可能更快）。这种用 visuospatial sketchpad 的方式，更得心应手。

候被北京的满族人搞乱的，因为普通话是以北京话为基础的，而现在的北京话不是正宗
的汉语，而是北京满族人讲的混合了满语的蹩脚汉语。这种说法近年来我们经常在网上
看到，过一段时间就会出来“历史发明家”痛心疾首地述说普通话的悲惨历史，例如前
不久有一篇题为《“普通话”的真相：满州人的蹩脚汉语》的文章就在网上刷屏。
这些“历史发明家”以为时间机器还没造出来，没人能够穿越到明朝去听听明人怎
么讲话，所以就可以信口开河胡编汉语发展史。明朝没有录音机，明人怎么讲话，我们
当然是不可能十分确切地知道了。但是明朝留下了大量的语言文献，通过研究这些文献
，我们是可以基本搞清楚明人是怎么讲话的。关于明朝时期的北京话，很重要的一份语

生经历来思考一些更广泛的话题，例如为什么生活总的来说很幸苦，但是我们大多数人
还是会愿意明天接着活下去？：）
一个常有的误解会认为这些是“文科”的话题，但事实上越是基础性的课题越是在各不
同视角（学科，生活经验）上最终会看到相通的地方。
另一个常有的误会是觉得GAY一般好像应该是仅适合芭蕾舞蹈家，发型师，设计师等方
向，其实另一个现实的现象就是GAY群体最终贡献的思考者(thinker)是与这群体的大小
很不成比例的。人们曾选出过东西方以往两千余年10位最杰出的思考者，其中柏拉图，
亚里士多德，培根和哥白尼一般都认定为同性恋者，牛顿与康德终身未与女人有亲密接
触（very suspicious:)),真正比较肯定的异性恋者仅有剩余的孔子，圣奥古斯丁，黑
格尔及爱因斯坦，其中圣奥古斯丁还绝大多数上是一位MONK。与一般认为的10%或者更
低的GAY在人群中比例相比较，这里的比例实在是太不成比例的高了。

着枷锁。因为这世界的independent thinker 太少了，而附庸风雅的peudo-
intellectual太多了。很多书念到一定程度的人，并不比蓝领们聪明，但是却得装成是
‘智商高’，而且要入乡随俗，所以只好人云亦云，追逐时尚--比如主张堕胎，支持
free Tibet，gun control，gay marriage, AND vote for Obama--有多少是他们自己
的主张呢？不过是peer pressure 而已！
记得以前有不少这样的小左朋友，从医生律师教授家里出来的，谈起话来都侃侃而谈，
然后才发现都是在背New York Times, New Yorker的editorial. 他们喜欢和我这种
foreigner 聊天以示opernminded，却看不起那些穷的白人。其实骨子里是最势力的。
最近看选举才想明白这些人就是'liberal'的中坚分子，而巴马身上带有他们很多的特
点--势利，傲慢，没有compassion,自我感觉良好。

One of the reasons I drifted so far left was because of a constant sense of
outrage. It was like a steady drumbeat in my head: Capitalism? Patently
unfair! Unequal pay for women? Outrageous!
