美国，一路紧张。我到美国已经是傍晚，然后第二天早上就开始面试，一共持续两天，
第一天下午job talk 1小时，第二天下午chalk talk 1小时。
1. 时差问题，我当时由于第一天刚到美国倒时差，当天晚上就睡着了1小时，面试第一
天完全靠不停喝咖啡扛到晚上，然后也没睡多会，面试第二天又硬扛到最后，结束就瘫
了~ 所以如果能早一天去适应一下应该身体上会好受一些。
2. Job talk， Chalk talk板上有很多信息了。当然我觉得最重要的就是用自己的工作
说话，思想上对学科发展脉络有清晰的认识，对领域内派系及牛人的故事（及八卦）多
少有了解，对未来自己研究的方向有自信。另外，在中国拿到各种基金的经历一定要讲
一下（我在job talk致谢有提到，chalk talk有机会多说了几句，然后吃饭的时候就有
人好奇问到，那时候就可以多讲讲了）。我感觉当时讲自己在国内拿到各种基金（NSFC
, MOST, CAS）的经历这部分应该是对结果有帮助的，让人感觉你有机会来到美国就拿

找了半天没找到合适的地儿问，这里型男多，就问问穿衣，西装和衬衣的技巧吧
为了准备面试和会议，想买件正式的衣服。去店里试了一些，因为平时不穿的缘故，总
觉得别扭，可能是fit不好，也可能是我心里作用。。。
1. 看到前一段时间讨论衬衫的问题。我买的express的 1MX extra slim fit，非常贴
身，挺好看的。就是拆开衬衫后，一堆褶皱，让我怎么熨烫啊
2. 西装research了好久，我不打算买dressing suit，就是跟裤子配套的。想分开买，
买blazer。也是express的。试了几个号，觉得胸部不是太紧就是太松。
3. 裤子我买的是chino，不是dressing pant 。 我觉得平时稍微正式的场合都可以穿

小弟刚开始PERM，但是发现律师不靠谱：连工资搞错了低于prevailing wage他也不在
乎不想改。我非常担心，所以来此恳求各位有经验的前辈指点迷津。
小弟我以前看见大家说job description里面要尽量多写自己有经验的skills，比如
programming language之类，这样可以尽可能多地挡掉来应聘的人。但是我也看见一些
律师网站说不能够按照申请人的条件tailor requirements,说这样的话很可能会被
audit：“unreasonable minimum job requirements or requirements that are

普通的做法是相同的，有些好的牌子，有自己不同的架构，allen edmonds很多鞋子是
unfixable的。
这个跟西装一样，有structure的，half canvas，full canvas，很多种，还真不是每
个tailor都会做。
以前给我老爸买了一条裤子，收个腰而已，国内问了N多tailor，人家说结构太复杂，
不会弄。
修鞋店一般在比较nice的区。我上次路过naperville一家店，里面全是好鞋，private
owner，特别小，owner是个修鞋的老头。

hearing aid specialists. The cheapest one I have been offered is $800ish
for one. Technically, hearing aid needs to be tailored made. I had my
doctor tailor-made for my dad, so they fit into his ears, and won't drop off

发帖数: 167 | 50 原来在esprit家买过一条合适的上班穿的裤子，可现在esprit在美国都没有店了。
其他家的都大，包括loft的，loft家00P的腰还可以，但屁股那就很大，一点也不fit。
我这身材真的很难在这里买到合适的西裤。听说可以找tailor量身定做。
麻烦推荐好的tailor.
