参加的会议叫做ebay top seller summit, ebay今年第一次搞，今年到目前为止举行了3次，我manager本来邀请我参加2个月前NY的，但由于回国错过了，于是参加了chicago今年最后一次的summit。幸亏参加的最后一个，知道了太多惊人的消息，而且做为一个中国人也可以对整个ebay policy有所影响，觉得收获实在太大，在这里和各位共享。
ebay summit不同于往年的ebay live。ebay live搞了10年，规模都比较大，去年ebay live chicago去了大约8500人。今年ebay live停办一年。 ebay top seller summit是由ebay邀请ebay 的top 150 sellers，按照地区分为4快，每个区域大约30个seller参加，ebay本身派出20个各个部门的decision maker参加的一个介绍座谈会。

月）。之后今年一月这个loan卖给了Wells Fargo。请问summit是不是应该给我2011年
的1098表 （21天利息）？是不是Wells Fargo只负责提供新的loan的1098（2012年1月
开始），而不包括预付的12月的利息？
我2010年的也在summit做了refinance，之后贷款也被卖到另一家公司。但我从来没收

devil's backbone在 summit的东南
Yu掉下去的地方在summit的西北，完全是不同的方向
出事情的地方应该在summit和west baldy之间
有可能是因为有冰滑下去（这个要看当时的condition以及坡度状况）
也有可能是whiteout之后走错了方向，从summit向北（以为是向东了） |

1) news earlier only mentioned that she signed trailhead registry at 8.xx am
and the rescue team at the beginning was searching the section before
summit in places where she might get lost;
2) earlier on the page, someone wrote: 10.xx short trip to ski hut and back;
ski-hut is only half way to the summit. Cannot imagine leaving a note like
this on a summit registry.

some of is more affordable than the rest.
The neighborhood to the east of overlook hospital is considered affordable
area, where you get a significant portion of non-English speaking residents.
They are mostly working class.
To the north of Springfield ave and the railway, and to the east of Morris
ave, especially between Woodland ave and Essex rd, this part of Summit is

get >10 bids (many chinese bidders) and you have to pay crazy premium to
grab one.
Summit is right next to shorthills, even though good houses in summit go
very quickly like shorthills, I think it is slightly easier to get hold of a
decent house between 1-2mm, I think that's why more and more Chinese buy
houses here, plus Summit has a cute downtown and lots of community events. |

But I think it is a fact that only a small fraction of short hills kids go

笑就过去了，水平实在有限，十大就免了吧）
这两个地方放在一起有点风马牛不相及，一个在南边，一个更西北点，要说相似点的话
那就是两个地方都有不错的的downtown （当然Summit和Millburn也有很好的downtown,
但是我想把这两个相邻的地方放在一起写，所以只能把剩下两个很有名气带的
downtown城市放在了一起），尤其是Westfield的downtown, 应该是NJ最大最有名功能
最齐全的downtown.
大家不要小看downtown这个东东，感觉不稀罕，在这种东北部老城区里，有downtown的
城市一般都是很不错的城市（不算Newark那种工业商业化的downtown，不是一个概念)
，一般来说，这些地方发展的早，城市规划的好而且完善，都会在中心位置有个很cosy
& laid back的地方. 可以满足居民们遛狗，遛孩子，逛街，购物，吃饭，美容，等等
hang out的日常要求。town里逢年过节搞啥活动，居民们从四面八方过来集会，同学家

发帖数: 1273 | 21 我觉得楼主低估cranford跟scotch plains了。楼主目前写的6个城外加尚未提及的
summit, millburn和shorthills我都有仔细看过。给人感觉最好的就是westfield。
Westfield也有6个M的房子，白人中产的趋之若鹜也决定此地房价抗跌。整体上没有
summit贵，但是被new providence追上我觉得不可能。个人看房的感觉，住westfiled
的人对这个town的认同感极高。另外westfield的mid-town direct train是早晚的事,
这才是真正的潜力。
但就Union county来说，summit位置无敌，甚至可能全NJ最好，所以summit贵得有道理
。其次是westfield，new providence和berkeley heights这俩我感觉还差些。
补充问一句：楼主认为的第一纵队都有哪些地方 |

发帖数: 8162 | 25 Ft, 我列的都是实际所交税和市场价的比率。我不会把市场价和tax assessmen搞混的。
税率多少你自己可以在网上找到的，不是你自己拍脑袋说了算。
他们早就算过了，merck倒掉以后就算summit把这块地空着不用，
而且全部短缺由summit来承担，summit的税率也就和millburn持平。
事实上税率高低主要还是和同一个county不怎么缴税的群体的比例有关。
Millburn, Livingston, West orange所在的Essex county最坑爹，summit, Westfield
, new providence所在的union也好不到哪儿。相比之下，somerest, morris就好很多 |

低， Chatham Boro交通也很方便。 去城里的火车， 早上八点钟零几分
那班肯定不用抢座位， 到了Summit就不一定了。 最snobbish的还是
Summit北边以及Short Hills某些sections的超豪宅区．．
关于学区， 俺倒是蛮喜欢Summit这样的Diversity的， 在中学里就
开始接触百分之十几的南美裔的蓝领子弟， 其实也挺好。 Livingston
也是这样。 当然小学里的确是不希望老师花很多时间教西语小朋友英语，
但是那只是Summit的一小部分， 只要不去那就好。。。
Basking Ridge很多人坐汽车上班， 早一点进城一个半小时D2D可以
搞定。

发帖数: 1074 | 27 lz预算已定，主要就是通勤的问题了（学区不用考虑，我列举一下地区学区均9-10分）：
（1）坐Train：
在78号以北，当然最好的是Summit，因为它是铁路的hub，车次最多，但是80万的预算
只能买偏小（1500 sqft）偏旧的（5、60年代）的Single Family。再往西挪一点，有
Chatham Boro和New Providence，Berkeley Heights，Long Hill。这些Town都有车站
，rush hours的快车大概一个小时就可以到达NYC Penn Station，不过缺点是车次不够
多。越往西边就越能买到好房子，比如80万在Berkeley Heights就能买到condition相
当不错的Colonial了，不着急也能碰上80年建的3000多sqft的房子。
在78号以南，有Westfield、Garwood、Cranford（学区稍逊不过也算好）一带，也有
Train站点到NYC。通勤时间在一个小时左右。Westfield房子最贵，一般地比较小（因

全地休闲滑雪是个不错的家庭运动，健身减肥增强疾病抵抗力，舒缓冬季暗无天日长夜
漫漫压抑的心情，挺好的。
今年滑雪季票的价钱好像涨了10到20刀。我想买的成人LTD票是309刀，比去年涨了10刀
。不过我去年滑雪器械都买了（旧货总共不到300刀），所以全家省了器具租金费用四
百刀。
今年季票优惠九月十五日是截止日，九月十六日票价还要多二三十刀。不过微软现在有
人在跟他们要group优惠，不知道适用那一种，我记得只优惠团体课程票的不优惠季票
。微软的同学不急着买，等周五他们有消息了我再更新。

打算2012年底开始学滑雪的同学，现在就可以动手买优惠季票了，现在雪况仍然相当好
，估计还能免费多滑本季一个多月时间，貌似票价跟两年前完全一样，也跟使用微软优
惠的价钱完全一样。
月族关(Snoqualmie Pass)雪场季票信息
西雅图冬天孩子的户外活动很少，滑雪是一项很不错的冬季户外项目，孩子们也学得很
快。我2009年底开始跟两个4、7岁娃（他们的运动协调性都不强）开始看央视教学片自
学滑雪，雪季结束三人都能从简单黑道上下来，花费加衣物雪镜大概三人共1000刀出头
。一个季度下来感觉滑雪乐趣甚多，从此西雅图雨季不再忧郁。
这个Snoqualmie雪场的特点是离西雅图最近，在90边上，Sammamish开过去只要45分钟
。另外的有名雪场有Stevens和Crystal开车都要两个钟头左右，所以初学滑雪推荐首选
这个雪场。如果去滑的人多了，孩子们在雪场可以互相学习鼓励，如果拼车在路上也比
较热闹。

，从lunch counter到false summit接近3000尺的高度，我们上来的时候用了3个小时，
滑下去的时候，只用了10分钟。 当我们到了9000尺的lunch counter的时候，回头看su
mmit，发现summit又已经乌云密布了，而且这时候的云很低，已经看不到summit了，我
们再次庆幸大自然对我们是多么的眷顾，在我们登顶的前后一个半小时里面，给我们开
了一个时间窗。
中午时分，我们回到营地，按照计划，应该立即收帐篷下撤，可是那个有高山反应的女
孩，还说有些头疼，加上我在离营地还有不到100尺的地方，一不小心把脚踝扭伤了，
于是我们决定推迟一个小时下山，那个女孩钻到帐篷里睡觉，我则开始用雪冷敷我的脚
踝，然后用绷带把脚踝固定住， 毕竟我还要背着50多磅的东西从营地下降2400尺回到t
rail head，如果我真的不能走路了，那可是非常麻烦。好在后来，我受伤的脚踝没有给
我带来太大的麻烦，我忍着疼一直走到了山下。
正好这个周末我没有爬山计划，可以让我的脚踝得到时间休 |

ice. We put crampons on, used one ice axe and one ice tool, and started to
traverse to the summit pinnacle. Most of time, we simply roped up. On some

Buachaille Etive Mor （Scotland, UK)
Total Distance: around 8km/13miles
Total Elevation: 1110m
Start Time: 10am ish

Condition: Snow/ice all the way through, deep snow near summit
没有crampon就大无畏地跑过去了。好在Goretex的鞋表现不错，再加上从朋友那里顺来
一副Gaiter，走雪路没有太痛苦。登山杖也起了很好的支撑作用，在雪地里用起来尤其
顺手。
Buachaille的难度是Grade 4，事先商量好了，爬到不能继续的地方就折返，去走另一

summit rd和一条小路 bear creek rd有一小段重叠,
重叠的两端各有一个三叉路口.都有路牌.
但是路牌上都没有summit rd的名字,只有 bear creek rd.
3年前,我在第二个路口,左转走到了bear creek rd.而不是summit.
前两天, 我在第一个路口的路牌上,看到左转是bear creek,于是果断右转.
结果又回到17, 绕道9号去的castle rock.
美国的路名真发指,不但有很直的一条路,说不定什么时候变路名的情况.
还有两条路share一段,而只有一条小路路名的情况发生, |

今年K2攀登分为南北两侧。南边经过艰难准备，大约11名攀登者于今晨冲顶。原来天气
预报天气应不错，但实际是强风，根本不能冲顶。攀登者们别无选择，只能放弃。经过
5个小时已安全下撤到大本营。南面的K2攀登基本宣告结束。北面的著名登山女将
Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner等三人还没到达突击营地，目前还不知他们今后几天计划。K2
自2008年大灾难以来已两年无人登顶，今年结果如何，要看Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner他
们的结果。Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner已完成13座8000米山峰，K2是她最后一座。在所有
攀登中，她都是无氧攀登，没有大团队，而且经常选择非常规线路，是登山女性中的佼
佼者。

据最新消息，Kaltenbrunner他们在C4营地休息了一天等待。在这么高的海拔滞留一天
很不寻常，所以今天（8月8号星期一）必须面临的决定是：冲顶或下撤。目前还不知他

were at home, I would not want to
spend a day out in that weather. But I was in a motel in Gorham, NH, on the
north side of White Mountains.
I had planned to run for an entire day, and the thunderstorm isn't going to

这个能看summit, 但是只可以用上午11点的
2.K2 Aviation: 1.25-hour McKinley Flyer Flightseeing Tour
这个不去summit,可以有两个选择8:30a or 11:30a， 这样可以早点去下面的活动
都是小飞机，价钱差$55倒是其次，summit的高度看到的真有很大区别吗？

发帖数: 431 | 44 12月去夏威夷，大岛3天，Oahu 6天，Kauai 6天。Oahu和Kauai时间充裕，休闲为主。
现在主要考虑大岛的行程，目前计划去的地方有Hapuna beach，Mauna kea
summit and observatory，Hawaii Volcanoes National Park。有些疑问咨询一下大家。
1. Mauna kea summit and observatory看日落和星星很赞。海拔近14000 feet，本来
对开车不担心，因为有过Pikes peak (14000+ feet，白天开)、黄石、优胜美地的开车
经历，都没有问题。但网上有说不是四驱的车到Mauna kea summit蛮危险，看星星后还
需开夜路。Mauna kea summit都是paved的路吧？一般租车公司的fullsize sedan或
fullsize SUV（不知是否四驱）能行吗？
2. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park有什么特别值得推荐的行程。本来很期待Lava
boat tour，很遗憾近期没有Lava flow to sea。

下山的路还是很愉快的，因为可以坐在雪上猾下来，我们从false summit开始glisside
，从lunch counter到false summit接近3000尺的高度，我们上来的时候用了3个小时，
滑下去的时候，只用了10分钟。 当我们到了9000尺的lunch counter的时候，回头看su
mmit，发现summit又已经乌云密布了，而且这时候的云很低，已经看不到summit了，我
们再次庆幸大自然对我们是多么的眷顾，在我们登顶的前后一个半小时里面，给我们开
了一个时间窗。
中午时分，我们回到营地，按照计划，应该立即收帐篷下撤，可是那个有高山反应的女
孩，还说有些头疼，加上我在离营地还有不到100尺的地方，一不小心把脚踝扭伤了，
于是我们决定推迟一个小时下山，那个女孩钻到帐篷里睡觉，我则开始用雪冷敷我的脚 |

还是在瓦胡岛的第一天，出得Valley of the Temples，去吃了在岛上的第一顿午餐，
一家典型的Hawaii Food小餐馆。据我观察，Hawaii当地日常菜，基本是综合了亚洲各
国-中日韩菲外加美式bbq的大拼盘。简单说，最常见的一份午餐盒饭是这样构成的：广
式烧腊+韩国烤排骨+美式bbq chicken+白米饭+Macaroni salad。香是香，不过热量超
级大，难怪岛上土著肥壮汉子比比皆是。苦了饭量小的LD，却乐了我这个肉食爱好者。
吃饱喝足继续上路，开车上山去往Nu'uanu Pali summit。这个summit，正好位于穿过
山脉连接Honolulu和著名的海滩小镇Kailua的公路顶端，本就以风口闻名。我们去的一
路都在下雨，场面更是摧花折腰的残酷。在summit看停车位的土著说是因为一场风暴刚
过去的缘故，到处还是烟雨弥漫，本是个很好的远眺海景的地方，只能看着天边的浓云
想象那份壮观了。停车要交费，我在自动刷卡机上刷了几下，不知何故未能通过。土著
