stubborn. 这个 stubborn的词严重吗? 这个如果就翻译成“固执的”，好像还比较中
性。可是听上去就想到“死呆笨”，就觉得很贬义。
还有我们现在上的是半天的，本来想等秋季改成全天的，可是校长说她觉得娃没法适应
全天的。

你娃儿除了坐得远，还有别的动静么？
如果只是坐得远，也没打扰别人，也没有影响别的小朋友
这个校长感觉不太对劲
小孩子做什么事情、或者不做什么事情
很多表现都只是表象，背后一般都是有原因的
有些他们自己也表达不清楚，有些他们可能是潜意识的
按说校长应该是比较有经验的，不应该这么不淡定啊
而且因为这样就说孩子stubborn贴标签，认为孩子将来不好带，会给学校添麻烦的
听起来不是很professional，也不是很有爱心 |

后的机会，在西雅图，又做了三年半。那个时候，他在申请到我这里做第三个博士后。

常表达日常需求的程度，说深了就听不懂了；英文当然就是美国本土水平了。她人当然
是没话说，我们还是很相亲相爱的，除了偶尔她有点反华言论，令我略感不爽。

赞一个 －－ 赞你这种批评帖都帖帖必回的作法和心态。 很难得，大部分人做不到。
你做到了，deserve 至少我来给你点个赞， 即使这个赞不值任何钱 :)
皮毛：即使你们已经做了很多，但显然做得还不够：你妈遇到窘境，就是活生生的结果
。 做得多少不是说给别人听的，是自己去承受的。 祝你生活上变得越来越有智慧 －
－ 大度能听进去不同意见的人，成长是很快的。
PS 我曾经很纳闷为什么越笨的人越容易很stubborn，后来才明白，是很stubborn的人
才在成长过程中落后于同龄人，显得越来越笨。。。correlation 不等于causation。

我还专门买了怎么对付stubborn娃的书，还木有看。。但看网上不少人介绍这些方法，

我家小肥是STRONG-WILL的娃，现在这个DAYCARE负责人
总是说她很STUBBORN...
我6月中的时候，给娃换了现在这个DAYCARE，因为离家2分钟
车程，而且有更多的小朋友。小肥刚去的时候绝食抗议了2天。然后
爸爸和她谈心了很久，我们都花了不少时间陪她玩，还说她表现
好的话，带她去动物园玩。。。慢慢才开始吃东西的。
DAYCARE负责人说，明明想和她说说道理，但是看到小肥看她的眼神，
感觉她就知道她会讲什么，完全不配合。。。。
我们在家也会教育小肥，结果小肥安静听完后都说，YES,OK，好。。。
又一副很乖巧的样子，但行为上没有一次照做的。。。
不过，我和LG目前不是很担心小肥，一是发现她是比较DOMINANT的
PERSONALITY，但也明白事理，二是觉的她还小，慢慢来吧。
我家小肉完全不STUBBORN，但很多东西都不明白，MOTOR CONTROL
和INHIBITORY CONTROL都比较落后，和她讲东西，她也许理解，也许
不理解，但结果都是无法CONTROL。。。比如说，让她把不吃的水/JUICE/

俺现在这么描述：
俺的疑惑，是你娃前面的描述，一定要看某个电视、一定要去某个
lane check out、一定开车回去，完全是 strong-willed。
但是当被 time out 的时候，却毫不在乎，这个从俺的角度理解
是非常自相矛盾的，这时候为啥 will power 突然消失了。。。
但是如果回过头来看俺上面那段话，之所以产生 paradoxical，
是因为我假设 strong-willed 应该是 consistent 的 --
consistently control & planning 娃自己的 schedule/life
。。。所以错在这个假定。。。不是所有的will power 都是这样
consistent 的。
现在回到实战，在 strong-willed 和 logical/analytical
之间，在俺的回忆里，貌似老师们对 strong-willed 总是
半信半疑的神情。
我在想，可能是俺错了，还错了 N 年。俺的俩娃，可能就是

American Pediatric Association 背书的网站好像没 stubborn 5 的理论，让俺老很

确实比较让我抓狂，他倒是没有一定要按照某个固定模式做同一件事情，但是有些时候
在公共场合表现的非常无厘头，比如今天上午带他去playground，别的孩子都是自己一
边跑一边玩（当然这些孩子大部分看起来都比他年龄大一些），而他偏不肯下stroller
，下来就要我抱不肯自己走，这种情况会让我觉得他是个极其stubborn的人，事实上幼
儿园老师也曾经这么跟我说他在学校里不服从指令不肯学习（这个不排除听力问题或语
言障碍），也说他很有可能是性格极度stubborn的孩子，倒也没说他一定有什么问题，
就是在短期的观察人家认为他性格比较执拗，不肯变通，而这一点恰好不也有点像自闭
症的一些表现么，所以我才觉得很担心 |

今天唠叨唠叨老二的故事。
当年，我的中学语文老师,形容一个人之于另外一个人，一件事之于另外一件事,有过之
而无不及时,喜欢用一个词“平方”。
比方说，某女生太过泼辣，动辄将同坐的男生，打得抱头鼠窜，他就说：“你，简直是
王熙凤的平方”。
某女生娇弱，稍不如意，就哭鼻子抹泪，他会问：“你怎么是林黛玉的平方”？
班里一数学才子，上课从不听讲，历次考试，包括高考都能考出让人艳羡的成绩，自然
就被他描述成“陈景润的平方”。
以此类推就有了“悲剧的平方”“滑稽的平方”“笨蛋的平方”……等等。
借用老师的逻辑，我们把楚梅的老大亚伦，比作“犟驴”，那么，她的老二杰森，就是
“犟驴的平方”。
如果按照美国人的说辞，把亚伦说成是“stubborn as a mule（像骡子一样倔强）”那
杰森堪称“stubborn as a mule squared（犟骡的平方）”
老大亚伦的犟,是嘴犟，但他胆子小, |

have a female wart most likely. the easy treatment is to just use wart
removal, froze it off. but for the stubborn ones (most likely the female),
they will grow back later. for the stubborn kind, the best treatment is
inject chemical (same drug as chemo therapy), and that will kill it, and it
has to be performed by a dermatologist. |

run. Although I don't agree with his father's way of training, labeling it
as child abuse or the father as 变态, is equally wrong and won't help
anything. Look at how the invited 曹教练 approach it。That is the right way.
If we use the American standard and the knowledge we gained here to judge
things in China, I would say 80% of Chinese family can be labeled as "Child
