《哥林多后书》
3:6他叫我们能承当这新约的执事，不是凭着字句，乃是凭着精意；因为那字句是叫人
死，精意（或作：圣灵）是叫人活。
保罗是在论述新约的执事时做这个强烈的对比的。保罗所表达的是：如果是按照旧约的
文字去用律法衡量审判人，结果只能是死，因为世人都犯了罪，罪的工价是死。而新约
的执事不是凭着这些律法条文，而是凭着精意，而更大的不同是结果和目的，这就是“
叫人活”。
这样的截然不同，是我们理解新约和旧约不同的关键。对这个关键的理解，是和“精意
”紧密相关的。
那么精意是什么意思呢？
其实中文译本已经在括号中做了提示 - 或作：圣灵。如果中译本直接翻译成“圣灵是
叫人活”，可能会使我们更清晰地知道新约和旧约执事果效的重大不同。

是神圣经纶的目标与过程。而神化是藉着圣灵和有分于基督，而在人这一面，其关键乃
是人的灵。本文回顾教父们的神化教义，发现较早期的教父，如他提安与爱任纽，使用
πνεῦμα(pneuma)论及人的灵如何是神化的关键。但是，由于新柏拉图主义
和斐罗的影响，亚历山太的革利免、俄利根、与拿先斯的贵格利就开始同时使用pneuma

如前曾述，爱氏使用了「借祂所取之属人性情的那个经纶」来描述基督的道成肉身，使
得道成为恩典的「分赐者」。在这个基础上，爱氏如此描述基督为我们成为肉身的目的：
因为祂也「成为罪之肉身的样式」以定罪罪…祂呼召人进入祂的样式之中，使人成为神
的效法者（imitator of God），并把父的律放在他的里面，好叫他能够看见神，并赐
给他领受父的能力；［作为］住在人里面之神的道，成为人的儿子，好叫祂能够让人习
