此片风评不佳，初以为是歌功颂德的谄媚之作，观后却不尽然。
个人觉得此片是拍给受过一定教育，起码通识中国近代史的观众的。情节就不细谈了，
明星也不细数了，这些都只是表象，这里只谈一下个人的几点感触与思考。
影片从辛亥革命、清帝退位开始，中国人都在问，中国的未来在哪里？中国要走怎样的
道路才能强国富民？其实这样的思考从鸦片战争之后就已经开始，洋务运动、戊戌变法
，被历史书称为“温和的改良派”，思考的同时，也开始了向西方发达国家学习的过程

有一点你是说对了，美国的种族问题的确和经济/政治状况高度相关。美国最早的
racial difference其实不是建立在肤色的基础上，而是于经济，殖民相关。比如最早
的Irish移民，因为穷，而且是British Colony，而被认为是不同的race。
在17世纪末，基于肤色的racial difference被首先提出来，是因为在当时白人和黑人
workers联合起来反对aritocratic class的阶级剥削，通过racial difference来打破
阶级联盟。后来race又被用来Justify slavery。早期许多Irish immigrants也是
slaves，到后来才被racialize成只有黑人的。
既然你觉得我举的例子是只见树木不见森林，那请你高屋建瓴的阐述下当前美国社会的
racial harmony吧，如何缓和，如何共处，如何去segregation的。

留学美国，不是一个人的故事能够概括的，何况很多有着辛酸与成功经历的
predecessors早已对这一话题有过充分的阐述。比如，某个女博士用7年时间从某理工
科PhD转到Law School读JD，最后找到理想工作，但却失去了爱情，逝去了青春的故事
；以及某个十万男，拿着滕校学位，经历各种竞争淘汰，拿到华尔街某银行高薪工作后
，发现蛋疼，生不出孩子，老婆吵着要离婚的故事；当然，也还有某高材生，被骗回国
，拿着空头支票，后悔不已，遂跳楼自尽的故事；还有多年前发生在本校的某孤僻天才
怪男，打手枪，和自己的中国师弟，以及美国教授同归于尽的故事。
我来美国才一年半，尽管租了房，买了车，总算适应了Iowa City这个中西部小城的生
活和环境，可很多经历和想法仍还处于发展阶段，也还没有上述提到的那些曲折精彩浪

在国人趋之若鹜地把不及弱冠的孩子送往美国接受教育的时候，一对跨国夫妇反其道而
行之，为了让女儿接受中国的教育，举家移民中国。这是为什么呢？以下是他们耐人寻
味的讨论：
Kay的爸爸（年龄：26，国籍：美国，教育背景：斯坦福大学应用数学／计算机本科）
“我不想让女儿在美国上学最大的顾虑还不是学校，是美国文化。”
有三个最主要的原因：
一、美国文化中Anti-Intellectualism（反智主义）太严重。最明显的是在中小学。大
家最想当的是cool kids（酷小孩），cool kids都是不爱学习的，如果你爱学习，大家
都认为你是nerd（书呆子），嘲笑你孤立你，如果你喜欢学习，成长环境很负面，一路
要承受很多同辈的不认同。
二、在美国从小就“被接触”大量毒品和性。要从小就开始抵制，而且不断有peer
pressure（同辈压力）迫使你尝试，这对于教育是很大的干扰。
三、男女非常不平等。当然，世界上哪里男女都是不平等的，但在美国文化中尤其严重
。我特别反感美国文化从小就宣传女生要hot（性感），要slutty（风骚），作为女孩

功改變歧視有色人種的種族分離（Segregation）政策及法律，也為民間抗爭行動作了
良好示範。只是，馬丁路德金的行動絕不是一帆風順的，他不僅因為不遵守歧視有色人
種的法例而被捕下獄，身邊一些朋友、神職人員也批評馬丁路德金挑戰法律的做法「不
明智及操諸過急」（Unwise and untimely）。為了回應這些質疑，他在獄中寫了一封

AB1266法案。法案将允许公立学校学生参加目前性别隔离(Sex-segregated)的学校课程
、活动和使用设施，包括体育队和比赛项目，只要自我性别认同一致，不论文件上的性
别记录如何。对此，受访的华人教委、家长和学生皆表示，这是一个前所未见的法案，
多数人担忧会引发性骚扰和心理不适等争议，也有人说该法案旨在保护变性学生(
Transgender students)不受歧视。
