你再努力，二辈子都进不去。

Language甚至Web Framework关系不大。
处理scalability的确是技术话，要对操作系统，网络，storage等等都比较熟悉，光会
一点coding还不够。通常是由architect或senior software engineer考虑的事。
用RoR的大网站不少。比如Twitter和Groupon。

发帖数: 10166 | 43 内存这个一般倒是都会做些分析，毕竟并行计算并不只是speedup，内存够用也非常重
要。有些计算对内存需求极大，非得到多个节点上均分一下才能算得动，典型的如三维
边界元方法。
好的scalability很重要的一点就是problem size增大的时候节点内存无需增加或者只
需缓慢增加，而且还能保持iso-efficiency。对不同的具体问题这种scalability都是
不同的，一般需要推演相关公式，如三维差分流动和三维离散元就有不同的
scalability，做深度耦合并行的时候就得很注意。
但是cache这东西实在很敏感，好像也没见到啥理论分析，不过我是搞应用的这方面知
之不深。 |

2003 again. Funny how some of you kept padding self in the back and all
of a sudden Java becomes a better choice than .Net.
I'm sorry but Java WAS better (slightly I might add) only before 2005,
and a lot of it had to do with MSFT had no top notch DB end until Sql
Server 2005 and little to Java's superiority (if any) over .Net.

OpenShift does not support direct connectivity to an embedded database on no
n-scalable applications. Having said that, there are 2 workarounds today:

先到自己目录的.icons目录下建立一个myicons目录，建立scalable和mimetypes目录和
文件index.theme，编辑index.theme

文件，图标改成gnome-mime-application-pdf.png就好了。

在科学计算的领域之外，大约也就DB，app server, content management
server, ERP这类少数比较标准化的东西算得上。服务器端的东西本来就是
针对一群人的，而一群人的需要会与另一群人不同。即便是上面说的这些
标准化的东西，也只有瓶颈的一小块东西会用C/C++的语言去实现，比如
DB的内核。
几乎任何行业都使用应用服务器，并且大部分行业都是CRUD基础加一些
各行业相关的商业逻辑。应用体系结构可以不同，但本质都是
request/response。最重要的无非就是security, transaction, scalability，
reliablity这些概念，这些远远比单机的performance重要的多。
C++因为语言本身的原因，在scalability和reliability上有很大缺陷。
所以新的服务器应用很少再用C++来写。系统崩溃一次造成的损失，可能
比硬件的价格还贵。而一旦业务增长，用户数上升，面临的就是被迫重写
应用使其scalable，这要比硬件价格贵多了。
