PhDs from top schools or top advisors or top labs or unique experience.
2007 to 2008, there seems a salary bubble.
Fresh PhD base salary could reach 95K to 110K. Total compensation reached
110K to 130K the 1st year. Total compensation might be reduced in the 2nd
yr due less the sign in bonus.

salary anyway through background check.
You don't need to worry about your current salary being low, because if you
are well qualified and competent for the new job, they should be able to
match salary with the new job. As for salary negotiation skills, there are

the base salary results from www.salary.com,(this website only shows base
salary for you for free), and then you add 4 more years experience salary
level to the base salary. Then you can figure out how much you worth and
compare to the offer price.
If I were you, I would take the offer defintely but negotiate the salary by
around 10%+ more.

loans paid off with a 2 year commitment.
That sounds a bit more reasonable BUT..have you ever actually BEEN to South
Texas??? Salaries are inflated in that area for a big reason. It's very near
the border, poverty is horrendous and resources are very limited. School
districts are struggling and they have a hard time attracting providers of
all types to that area so they have to inflate the salaries.

不知道这个怎么才算呢? 工作的title是xxx scientist, salary就是G/F的标准package
+一点stock (base, 120K+， total 190K+). 我查了一下, O*Net上Computer and
Information Research Scientists median salary在100K左右，具体公司所在州的话.
劳工部数据库（flcdatacenter） 上level4 也就是$118,498 year。 可以claim这一项
criterion吗？
我看板上好像还没有人claim过这么一项(1a 也是可以claim的）。 是不是一定要到1M
以上的salary才好意思claim啊。如果是这样的话，我也就死了这个心了。

老板减了我的工资 (我当时不知道H1B不可以减工资).
现在在准备回国签证材料,问HR签证申请表上应该填写I-797上的salary还是cut后的
salary.
HR说不能减工资，除非申请重新H1B.老板知道后决定补给我减掉的工资，我听说要出示
６个月的paycheck,但是我的前5个月的paycheck显示的是cut后的monthly
salary, 只有最后一个月会显示(I-797上的monthly salary + 补给我的过去几个月的
工资).
请问
1. 这种情况会被拒签吗?这样算做我的I-797无效吗?
2. 还是补上工资就没事，或者补上工资本身不符合规定？

我是Fresh PHD,拿到东部一家中型公司的offer，薪水凑合，在salary.com 等各大查薪
水的网站上查得公司所给工资比平均水平低一些，于是在上个星期发信给HR进行salary
negotiation，语气比较软，用语也比较礼貌。此公司办理H1。
但是一个星期过去了，公司没有回信。前天打电话给HR, 他说昨天会有结果。结果无果

但是有些公司的职位有base salary和salary to两个数据
而另外一些只有base salary一个
这是咋回事捏??
而且经常有base 10万, 上限15万的,这也太扯了吧

在询问后,得到了多位热心人的回复.
我也带着疑问问了我导师(他是系主任,当他看我的offer email 说医学院有钱.你可以
和他们Negotiate salary)
于是本着某网友的” 不谈白不谈， 谈了不白谈，钱不在多少，过程和经历最重要。一
次谈成功，往后忘不了！”,开始了准备工作.先是问具体BENEFITS,然后是搜寻各个网
站有关post-doctor 的工资信息．结果在Stanford，Upenn 还有我要去的学校网上都
发现NIH发的NRSA有关postdoctoral salary.
于是写了封email给他们．问了Salary，和compensation of moving, 以及Title．很快
得到答复：
Salary is increased to ~40K/year
They pay compensation of moving
TITLE may be changed after 1- |

我准备H1B回国签证. 请教一个问题.
老板减了我的工资 (我当时不知道H1B不可以减工资).
现在在准备回国签证材料,问HR签证申请表上应该填写I-797上的salary还是cut后的
salary.
HR说不能减工资，除非申请重新H1B.老板知道后决定补给我减掉的工资，我听说要出示
６个月的paycheck,但是我的前5个月的paycheck显示的是cut后的monthly
salary, 只有最后一个月会显示(I-797上的monthly salary + 补给我的过去几个月的
工资).
请问
1. 这种情况会被拒签吗?这样算做我的I-797无效吗?
2. 还是补上工资就没事，或者补上工资本身不符合规定？

department at LSE and UCL offer lecturers around 70000 pounds, which is more
than 110000 USD. Imperial College business school offers more than 90000
pounds, which is more than 150000 USD. LBS offers more than 1250000 pounds,
which is more than $210000. Engineering departments such as computer science
, software engineering, etc. also offer good salaries by adding "market
