Shooting a rifle in outdoor range is totally different from hunting with a
rifle. the hunting law is more strict than gun law. there are not a lot of
states where you can hunt with a rifle due to too long effective range. a
lot of deer hunters use shot gun. of course you can find a few spots in PA
you can use rifle for hunting by calling the Game Commmission. Even where
you can hunt with a rifle, there is regulation on magazine size.

It's good out to about 600yds, but the wind pushes it around much past that.
The realistic maximum range is 1000yds and there are very few bullets that
will even make it that far.

我报名的shotgun和rifle/muzzleloader培训。要提前在网上报名，NJ的培训几乎都是
提前几周就报满了，要SSN/驾照number。一大早到了露天的靶场，一共到了50来人的样
子，几乎都是红脖儿老白=。=。8点半开始，先是一个半小时的说教，其实就是书和DVD
教程上的内容live了一遍，然后分成两拨，去shotgun和rifle靶场。我先去的rifle，
一个老头教练把各种rifle/muzzleloader都掏出来玩了一遍，就让大家一个个来练，检
查，装填，射击，清理，rifle和muzzleloader各试一遍。靶场提供枪弹，护目护耳，
有的小孩子说想多打几发也得到了同意。老头在之后给每个人签字，就算通过了。之后
去shotgun场，同样的过程，每个人上去打一个立在地上的碟子，和若干个飞碟，教官
同样nice，也是所有人都给了pass。拿着两个pass去教室笔试，40道general问题，
Rifle/shotgun/Bow每个单项另有20 |

走火的主要问题是子弹如果没有上膛，在receiver里被击发了，就会伤到射手。有这样
的官司，说是在装弹的时候走火。
检查bolt action的safety的方法：

there are some outdoor range or club you can shoot rifle. There are a few
experts here on rifles. I am new and looking to buy rifle too. Are you
looking for long range bolt action rifles or semi-automatic rifles?
For bolt action, some folks here recommend Remington 700 for good price and
accuracy. If you wanna spend big money, CZ 750 should be on top of the list.
I am at work now and can send you some information on semi-automatic rifles
when I get home.

Here's how to do it. Snug the rifle in a rifle cradle. If you don't have
a cradle, get one.
Swab the receiver and mount or ring bases with gun-cleaning solvent to
remove grease, grit and fingerprints. Follow with a dry cloth, then a
silicone-impregnated rag.
Put base screws in a coffee saucer. If you don't, you'll lose one or
more. Guaranteed.
Set the base on the receiver and start the screws using a close-fitting
