正在申请faculty position。一个我的referee想让我申请他lab的research
scientist,背景其实和我很match,但我即使拿到了也不是很想去。因为LD
会和我一起relocate,而去了他那里我两年左右肯定要接着找工作，
我想要的是更稳定的faculty position,这样LD就可以找她的工作了。
我原本准备申请的这个位置，然后明年再想办法拒掉。
但我phd的老板认为我如果不准备去的就不应该申请，拿到了不去比
不申请更得罪人，我听了老板的建议，很坦诚的和referee email说了
我不申请的原因，referee表面上也表示理解。但今天他对我催两个
地方的referee letter的回音是：

的说明。没有找到欧洲那边的。欧洲应该也有类似的给裁判的指导手册，不过是不是一
样解释就不得而知了。
从这里看，梅西离场显然不是“to express dissent or to gain an unfair
advantage”，但要说他“forgotten to obtain permission”，似乎也勉强，梅西当
时似乎很frustrate，根本没想到要和裁判打招呼这事。所以给个黄牌也可以，给个
warning也可以，似乎。

域的大牛，技术比较强。但他给我的回信comments就基本是把referee的话重复一遍，
也就是说他连我文章里的methodology都没懂怎么回事，更别说contribution了，也就
是说他其实都懒得看我的文章，随便给了一个根本啥都不懂的referee对我的文章胡说八
道一通就把我打发了。如果editor看了我的introduction，都应该知道referee对我
methodology的攻击是完全错误的。这个referee的report里，把我的modology是完全没
看懂，攻击的是莫名其妙，甚至我明明说跟另外一篇文章的结果一致，他却问我为什么
用同样的数据得到不同的结果！对我的文章结果却没有任何comment。最让我无语的是
连这个领域是个人都该知道的一些基本概念他都不知道，竟然质问我为什么那么做。所
以，我猜这个referee不仅是个junior，可能要么不是真做我们这个领域的，要么可能

一个referee有两种可能性，1是杂志只依赖一个referee，2是第一个referee太
negative 主编就不等后面的了。
第一种情况容易出现在不好找referee的领域，比如math，很多top文章也只有一个
referee report.
我遇到过没有referee report，只有editor comments的情况，还是接收了。（不是什
么top杂志） |

反正豁出去了吧.几点感想:
1.跟referee吵架,与在买买提上参加各种骂战没有本质的不同.
2.买买提上骂战很多经验和战术可以直接应用:
2.1比如偷换概念:丫在意见里说我们的工作看起来是正确的,
我们骂回去时直接就说,"尽管丫也认为我们是正确的"
2.2攻其一点,不及其余:买买提上骂战的都有这个经验,
你说了一段话,99%的正确的,有一个1%的细节不对,
会被一堆敌人拿着这个1%骂你脑残,以至于最后看起来,
你真象脑残了,而你只犯了哪1%错误.
人只要说话,总会有说错的时候--特别那些没有买买提骂战
经验的referee,说的越多,错的可能性越大.逮着丫一个错误,
无限放大,上纲上线,以至于看来他的整个立论都有问题了.
比如那个反对的referee的一个理由是我们的论文太straightforward,
我们为此骂道(大意):人类探求真理并发表的最根本意义是为了
分享我们的发现,整个physical review存在的意义也是为了分享而非隐藏,
因此我们认为所有pr的文章都应该用最坦率的方式叙述自己的工作.

方这个人,根本没啥人肉的本事,因为他最初有个新语丝,掌握着所谓的"话语权",所以
会有人让他"爆料",这料爆多了,就会形成马太效应,许多好事者便纷纷找上门来让他爆
更多的料,当然,这其实也是互相利用,人家利用方的名声报私仇,而方赚"打假"的名声,
这其实也是双赢.
当然这过程中双方谈妥后方有没有收钱,或者爆料人有没有人塞钱我就不知道了.但是
我们不难看到一些双方谈崩的例子,比如最近方自爆的南方系的人想利用方搞臭重庆新
任公安局长,于委托方搞搞看,最后自然是双方价码没谈拢,蹦了.方摔了茶杯,把南方系
台面下的活给爆了,这自然是后话.
所以方这个人其实就是个台前的白手套而已,真正戴这副白手套的人,你们是不大可能
知道的,你们也别以为方多么高尚,其实这都是生意而已.

最近一片文章第一轮审稿意见出来了，遭遇到流氓审稿人。虽然以前也常有不公平的审
稿人，但这次的情况尤其让人无语，也希望有更多经验的人给点宝贵的意见。
基本情况是：两个审稿人，referee B给了极高的评价，并强烈推荐发表，但是因为他
的report比较短，因为他认为本文已经写的非常好，所以没有长的不必要评论。
referee A不同意，要求送PRB。基本理由是本文的考虑已经有文章讨论了，本文只是一
个详细讨论。现在让我说明一下他这个理由有多流氓：
1. 他的这个判断是基于一篇和我们这篇文章同时（6月份）放在arXiv上还没发表的一
篇文章作出的。我先不说此文与我们文章根本不同，但以这个时间来论，就知道这种理
由多么荒唐。
2. 事实上，他说的那篇文章除了有一个关键词的英文表达是和我们文章类似外，物理

我建议写个正常的revision而已。
rebuttal是你不同意对方的看法。我建议的是写同意对方的看法。
我遇到过我自己拒文章，其他referee支持，revision回来了，我提的重点一个没改，
但是letter写的很好看：
“这位referee的意见非常inspiring，对我们文章改进极大。我们已经非常认真的考虑
过了所有的评论，并且进行了大改，希望这次可令referee满意。”
然后除了typo literature改了改，其他针对每个重点的回复都是“referee的这条意见
非常正确，我们感到回答他的问题目前有很大的技术困难，超出了本文的范畴，我们打
算在下篇文章中研究这个问题。”
这种情况下我虽然不满意，但要是坚持拒显然是和editor以及其他referee的意见过不
去，一般叫他们改改也就接收了。

review过很多papers。审稿按说都是confidential的事情，referees知道我review过
paper合理吗？问过律师后，他说，“you can change the statement about the
reviews accordingly. We do not have to ask all references to confirm on
that fact”貌似他的意思是可以只让1,2个referees提这个。大家有让referees提审稿
的吗？
如果能提，大家觉得哪类referee提比较好：
现在的postdoc老板？PhD老板？某邀我审过2次稿的independent referee？

as a basket and by the rule you can not reverse that call. The offensive
goal tending call could be reversed by review, but not the other way around.
The ironic thing is Denver had a similar ball, the referees called a good
ball and Tom was barking about reviewing that call, the referees denied his
quest by rules. So the referees knew the rules, but they played double
