I could understand the idea that there is a waiting period, but I don't know
why it should take 49 days, and why it's inconsistent with that theory of
instantaneous rebirth.
Also take people's experiences for example, some dead souls could live in
someone else' body much later than 49 days. Is that soul in the intermediate
state between lives or is it in another state that it can naturally stay in
that state for much longer? What is that soul or that state called in
Buddhism? |

一个人死后，灵识离开身体，一般情况下（没有太大的功德或者非常大的恶业），就是
鬼的状态（在地府）。从这人变成鬼，就是REBIRTH, 这就是立刻的（instantaneous
）。许多人从这鬼的状态，可以再去投胎为人，也可以变成天人等等（需要这人的子孙
在他死后的49天内做功德）。所以他死后的49内是非常关键的时候，子孙要多做功德。
这鬼（或者称为灵性），可以在地府呆很长时间，很多年的，有非常多不同的情况。还
有几千年前的鬼没有超度的。

这所谓的临时状态，或者中间状态，就是鬼道（如人道，是六道中一道），也有人称49
天内的灵性为中阴身，这期间超度，子孙做功德效果非常好，否则已经投生了，再想把
他们超度上天，就没有办法了或者效果不好了。
把注意力放在最重要的东西上，上面这些东西，稍微了解下就可以了，以后也许自然会

按照佛法讲，“心”“识”的定义是“能缘”，具有指向，观察“所缘”的作用。他依

aspects on how this world runs.
I agree with you on the consequences of certain actions, and I regard such
consequences as neutral, rather than condemning or rewarding in nature. When
we learn the consequences through experiences, we know whether certain
action would bring certain feelings inside. Every event in my life is a
lesson for me to learn how to listen to my heart to reach a peaceful
decision.

我不太清楚，大胆猜测一下：agami karma 感觉是不会在这一世被消耗
这能解释为什么我们说：要财富就要施舍财物。是说现在施舍，未来的某一个rebirth
会受益财富。比如说富二代。 lol
还有就是，如果我们的praradha kammar 在出生时预定好，中间不变化，基本我们就是
所有经历过的事件都是预定的了。
我们唯一的能力就是遇到任何事都不嗔不贪， 淡定。要有刀子捅过来都明白是天道的

巴利文Annata 翻译成无我 /No self 通常让人困惑。 Gil 先从selfing 谈起，讲生活
中人有意无意我执 （1 my possession, 2 conceit (我的身体，容貌，智商etc) , 3
my opinion/view）产生的行为和相应的苦与压力.
然后在第四段讲座直接讲not self instead of no self. 他说佛经里唯一一次有人直
接问佛陀 “Is there no self?” 佛陀不予回答，也就是无记。 佛经里从来没说
there's self, 也从没说there's no self. 但是讲了很多xxx not self (body,
mind, emotion, consciousness ... not self). Gil 说"no self" 是个philosophy

真计较起来，从古至今
翻译佛经的时候也不是没有“非我”这个词，
如果“非我”能搞定，为什么不全部把“无我”用“非我”替代了？
杂阿含58经讲地挺清楚的， 佛陀确实有answer， 只是答案看上去比较隐晦罢了
个人觉得关键在如何理解 “异我”
至于文中说 没有“我”， 如何 rebirth,一定要有“我”才能 rebirth吗？
禅定的人应该是实证无我了吧？也就是我这样没开始的会在纯理解的范畴里面搞 |

在古代英国十二月被称为“before Yule"，一月份被称为" after Yule“。落在12月和
1月中间的就是Yule了。具体日子么，大概就是冬至那天，因为在这一天太阳rebirth了
，白天将会一天比一天长。因此为了庆祝太阳神重生，大家会开一个大party。但真正
的严冬这时还没有到来，一些猪啊羊啊之类的家畜不一定能够有足够的草料让他们活过
这个冬天。而处理这些牲畜的办法么……杀了吃肉开party。反正结果么，大家喝酒吃
肉开party。
传统上这一天会点篝火烧yule log，把常青树装扮起来祈福（Yule tree），杀猪吃肉
（Yule boar或者Yule Ham）, 唱歌（Yule singing ／ Wassailing／ Carol）。
