不是要heavy load, 停重型卡车什么的。我看到的铁丝网+fiber mesh的组合是承重更
好的。一
般driveway base比较好的，unreinforced 5" concrete slab都行。至于fiber mesh V
.S. 铁丝网，我不知道。至于rebar 肯定成本更高,有的地方code规定driveway入口是
不能用rebar的，估计这个跟水泥的厚度都有关系，4“的slab里面放rebar更容易crack
吧。我查到的是：Fibermesh can be used in residential, commercial or
industrial applications as the primary form of reinforcement without a rebar
skeleton. |

只用fiber mesh mix. 用rebar或者wire mesh可能会多收钱，但是rebar和wire mesh主
要是保证crack后整个水泥还连在一起，而且4-6 inch的水泥里用rebar或者wire mesh
也不一定好，因为水泥里有很多小石头。用fiber mesh mix在水泥里的contractor, 可
能更省事，但一些研究说fiber mesh对crack有更好的抑制作用。我都用过，看不出具
体哪个好，wire mesh更old school一些吧，但可能贵。 |

因为做了survey出来结果，fence刚好在property line上，我提了要求给邻居不许把
fence做为他们landscape的retaining wall。他们答应做改动。
改动后的样子如图所示，邻居的landscaper在和fence平行，并且和fence保持一定距离
的地方加了一根很粗的木头，在木头里间隔一定距离打了rebar（rebar下端好像进到地
面里，多深不知道，上面露出木头的上方一截）。
仔细一看还是发现两个问题：
我要求他们不能把fence作为retaining wall，表面上看貌似他们用这个木头当了泥土
的retaining wall，但是实际上：
1：放了一块砖头在木头和fence之间，我觉得这个显示他们觉得这个木头作为
retaining wall的信心还是不足。我要求他们把砖头取下来，看木头是否能稳住，对方
的listing agent开始坚决拒绝，在我威胁要给他发certified mail的时候，他才气呼

based deck stain，可以防虫防腐)。结果可能是我sand过的缘故，试着滴上水并没有
聚成水珠。于是我又刷了一层，考虑到第一层chestnut brown这个颜色有点太暗，我第
二层用的redwood natural tone的颜色；cabot premixed color选择太少，所以第二层
用的olympic maximum。据说如果刷两层用同一个牌子同一个型号最好
我留了3个缺口，而且各在对应地上砸进去了一个rebar,将来把4x4的木桩钻个洞，套在
露出地面的rebar上，然后固定在在joist上就可以了。 |

spread footing foundations, mat-slab foundations, and slab-on-grade
foundations are used in most parts of US.
Make sure rebar is in the middle (not too low), make sure they do not pour
when is too cold, make sure they water it for at least 2 or 3 days. Also
take a few sample from each batch of concrete, so if you are paying for 4500
psi mix, and one of the sample turns out to be only 4000psi, they need to
redo the whole |
