Don't speak to strangers, hehe
Actually you shouldn't expect other ppl acting as what you think they should
do. We have all kinds of ppl in this world. To blame other ppls is of no
benefit. You can dislike them, but you have to face them.
What you can do is to adjust yourself to make you comfortable, and,
most importantly, protect yourself. That doesn't mean being aggressive.
Nor does it mean self-constraint. A simple style cannot work very well in real
life.

haha, but i think work hard is the most fundermental things gor us to do even
for many Ph.D.'s, including the PPL. Actually, PPL is a real course for many
students. But I think the one dedicated to Jiang Core is not a perfect thing.
That will make us more aweful. I think so.

当#ppl is fixed,能解决这一现象的就是increase available areas, 比如扩建立交
桥,加宽高速等。这就是LA一直采取的措施,不断加宽路况,增大可行性面积。
对于2000多万~3000多万人口的北京市区,多少辆汽车和多少辆自行车,提供自行车和
汽车的路面又多少,就可以算出人均在t_i那个时刻能享有过路权的权重比是多少。
你会发现答案是惊人的tiny。
与此同时,北京又在不停的扩建楼房,算一算每年用在residential building的面积以
多少rate在增长,就可以估算出每年在交通可行性面积的相对增长率。
按这个条件推算下去,不要说未来5年,未来50年,情况只会越来越糟,因为这还是#
ppl is fixed假设条件下,可未来50年的北京人口还会是今天的3000万,保持恒常数不
变吗?

When ppl talk about open/close stuff, chances are they are not in the
industry. Open source project can turn into not that open project easily -
all behind is the money.
MySQL is still open? Java is still open? Solaris is always close? Ppl make
things to make money; ppl buy things to satisfy their needs. So simple. It
really has nothing to do with "close" or "open". It is a game of money.

Re, to confuse personal likes/dislikes with forum management is a big
mistake. BBS is just another platform to let ppl speak, like a public square
. You can not and should not control what are ppl talking about as long as
they don't fight and bite like animals. Don't even say that you once block
ppl just because they said "It's a feature." Hope you could find some other
things to make you happy in your life.

well.. I would say that F# is the ideal language for who think it is ideal..
folks like me, and some folks in MSRC
I have worked for living with procedure/OO languages for years though..
the feeling of programming in python after you have programed in c/c++ was
squared when you move to F#..
the only thing is whether ppl could appreciate it, different ppl have
different taste.. just as much as I like SICP (structure and interpretation
of computer programming), many other ppl hate it just as much.

no, most ppl don't need that. just know istream and ostream and their
variations is enough (istream is basic_istream, similar for ostream).
their variations include ifstream/ofstream, istringstream/ostringstream.
just know op<< for output, op>> for input, op! (usually you need that
instead of eof() member) to check eof, clear() for opening another file,
manipulators (such as setw(), endl, hex, etc.) for formating, and getline()
for reading a whole line. these are enough for 90% of ppl deal... 阅读全帖

I only did one dosage curve -- it has the right trend, but I don't intend
to include the data anyway. the point of my project is, here I generated
a new aptamer pair for sensor ppl to play with (just google thrombin
sensor you'll know how those ppl are lol~), for assurance I demonstrated
they can give higher signal with target than w/o, and the signal is
specific to the target. I'll leave claims about sensitivity & stuff to
sensor ppl. end of story (hopefully).

be a boss or manager and convince others,but tech ppl also could do so in
business world.
sometimes if you can take a step back and look at the business world,you might
see sth.valuable from a different perspective;sometimes opportunities are
right there but many ppl are not ready to get them;sometimes some ppl just
couldn't see it;and often times luck does matter!

top school MBAs, you hear ppl get into McKinsey, Goldman,
and you also hear ppl who couldn't land a job three months
after graduation. It all depends. I think charleswang

after the MS if you dont' have any previous finance
background. Regarding application to the ph.d. programs,

It is true that many ppl got degrees from UH. However, you should be look
at it in a different way. Most of those degrees were obtained as continuing
education as ppl were taking advantage of corporate education benefit, and
not the other way around. If you take a look at the demographics, many ppl
attending UH are actually professionals that are already in the industry.
They were geologists taking engineering classes or vise versa. Or they are
profressionals taking advanced degrees.

You must be good at both execution of experiment and people skills.
Don't panic about the job.
HPLC is not rocket science, you just need a bit training and hands-on
experience. I have seen many ppl learned on the job and performed well.
Best way to learn is to search for established method/protocol in your
company. know your analyte and understand every detail in the method. This
will give you a solid foundation and scaffold to build your own mehtod. It

thx a lot for your advice. Indeed, the biggest concern I have is not whether
being a lawyer can make me big money, but whether I would enjoy it and do it
well. after all, I bet everybody who successfully got in T14 must be
competent
enough to succeed in many other things. being a mediocre and unhappy lawyer
just for the "starting salary" number is so not worth it.

I worked for CAT for more than three years, as student and also contractor.
CAT actually pays not very high but still ok in central Illinois. Last year
I was payed less than $70k as a contractor. CAT employee's salary is higher,
not sure, should be more than 80k while less than 90k. I mean, analyst such
as CFD, FEM ppl. Designers, testing ppl, I don't know.

most ppl I know in residency now are in this age group, more younger ppl are
showing up nowadays, but you are not alone for sure.
Family support is must, your determindation is must. Find a group is
exetremely helpful, spend time talking to ppl and plan a month by month
schedule, dont give up at beginning when u feel u r not making progress ....

Talk about being anxious. I am booked for 21st next month, and I aint ready.
Took NMBE2 with SP yesterday, got around 220...with less than a month to go
, I am pretty F*cked. With step 1 at least you have a fair good idea what to
read to get a decent score, with CK, there isnt much of consensus except
for UWorld. As with DIT and other resource...I said before and I say it
again...ppl check out 海盗湾, translate into English and google it! I dont

just some details that 5 is the upper bound:
first, note no more than 4 students can pick the same choice for
any particular problem. if there were 5, consider another
problem, by pigeonhole principle, with 4 choices, 2 of these 5 ppl

Yes indeed - good analytics ppl (knowing model, and technology) are much
harder to find than "pure" modeler, it is why I am willing to pay extra cost
for the NYC office - of course, if also knowing business, the 3-legged
talents would be best. Having said that, NYC office is silo-ed, that prevent
ppl there becoming ppl mgr, thus it is an option for mid-level subject
matter expert only - not for entry, not for senior

我的midterm,给了个case大意是9/11后,根据调查伊斯兰国家大部分人民
认为美国对付恐怖主义做的没错儿;到了2003年,调查显示穆斯林世界不再
支持美国的政策。
怎么用Durkeim或者人如marx, weber的理论解释这个变化呢?
我的第一个想法是把Durkeim的理论和iraq war联系起来。比如美军表现的对
