昨天收到I-485的RFE,移民局需要我补件，要出生证明的复印件 “a copy of your
official birth certificate”.
郁闷的是，我在寄材料时和大家一样已经递交了出生公证的原件“notarial
certificate of birth （中英文翻译件，在国内办的）. 所以个人感觉是他们在要“
出生证明”的复印件，而不是“出生公证”的复印件.可是中国申请人好像都是用出生
公证，也没什么问题.况且我们那时出生（1978年）也没什么出生证明.
不知道各位有没有碰到过这样的RFE? 我是应该再寄一份出生公证的复印件并解释一下
呢，还是到国内去找什么出生证明（估计不容易找到）？

1. 是否要寄出生公证的原件？复印件的话要彩色的还是黑白的？记得材料中附上了黑
白复印件。
2. 他们信中说要放在回信最上方的“the attached gold sheet”没见到啊。整个信封
里只有一张A4纸写的RFE。怎么办？
3。我和LD各收到一封内容一样的RFE信（也一样的没放啥金纸片），但我们的材料是一

9月初提交的。 我的背景在提交的时候如下： US 二流大学生物医学工程 PHD，现在

1st author proceeding,
one 1st author book chapter;
over 10 review for 2 journals and one
conference; over 130 citations （没有把独立的放出来），

，看了几遍，没有太看懂，在版上看到大家RFE里面都会说什么哪条通过了，哪条没有

验的给提些建议，非常感谢！
背景：
美国Top20 PhD, Top10 Postdoc. Claim老三样：文章、贡献和审稿
文章：11篇。5 1st author；5 篇领域内最好杂志（IF~10）；一篇为中文杂志。 引用
190+ (ISI), 250+ (Google Scholar).
审稿：24，（IF 从25到1不等，9个杂志）
推荐信：5封独立加1封PhD导师（美国、英国、意大利、加拿大和台湾）。
1封主编审稿证明信
1封公司合作者支持信
参考版上的经验，深挖了自己的贡献。做了油灯图，根据关键词索引了自己的文章，列
出了Small Percentage，也总结了引用并应用自己文章的文献。
感觉所有证据都已经用上了，手头上当时多准备了三封独立推荐信预防RFE（以色列、
爱尔兰、美国；美国那封来自工作界；2封编辑证明信）。

发帖数: 312 | 16 情况是这样：本人出生在A城市，后来户口迁到上海，迁户口的时候派出所同志错把我
出生地写成上海，因此户口本上的出生地就变成上海了。后来办护照，公安局依据户口
簿，我护照上出生地也是上海。一直将错就错下来。当时觉得可能有隐患，但是读书的
时候也没管这么多了。
如今要办出生公证，上海的公证处不愿意按照户口簿上的出生地公证，也就是只能公正
为A城市。他们说可以让派出所把我户口簿上改成A城市。但我觉得这没用，护照不能改
，或者说改起来更麻烦。再说了，在移民局留下的记录（如果有的话）一直就是上海，
跟美国人解释中国的户口派出所什么的，就真的不知道怎么说了。
请教版上法律高手，这种情况怎么办呢？

我自己能想到的办法：
1. 让公证处公证我的户口簿，户口簿上有出生地的记录，而不公证出生证明，这样或
许就绕过那个困难。
2. 找办证黄牛。当然有风险，虽然他们号称办的是真的。保险起见，在公证处开一个A
城市的公证，两相比较，如果黄牛证看起来没什么问题，也可以一试。

申请了。问题是offer letter里系主任不同意写permanent position的字样。结果两个
月等待，今天收到RFE，大致内容是：

话可以放到PL里面吹， 还需要请老教授给我写推荐信吗？ 如果写的话，是不是可以把
commentary里面的那些好话都写进推荐信里，然后PL里面引用并同时把推荐信和
commentary放到exhibit？ 这样会不会显得推荐信和commentary有点重复？

First of all, based on this write-up we believe that this person doesn't
know much about how the advocacy works. We think that anyone talking about
Admin fix for recapture just doesn't seem to know what they are talking. So
we think most of this is unrealistic number-throwing exercise to somehow
make a show that someone is in the know.
