我们活在一个比较愤世嫉俗的时代。爱情故事也变得越来越复杂，狗血，伦理混淆。也
难怪，大众的倾向是猎奇，求新。阳光下没有新鲜事儿是吧？那就找点儿不能见光的事
儿。看多了，读多了，疲劳了，新终究又成了旧。旧的呢？翻出来看看，却也觉得新起
来了。
《Persuasion》 就是老掉牙的旧，以至于被后人称为了经典。但坚持的读了下来，发

真是甚么书都看。Liz变的疑神疑鬼优柔寡断，全走样了。
简爱的前传茫茫藻海还是蛮好的，虽然人物也都走样了。
Persuasion是极好的。N久前我第一次看了就极度喜欢。这是作者临终前最后一部完
整作品，从一贯的对话白描喜剧风格走开，望向后来的意识流派或是擅长reflection的，
象Woolf, James等等了。不象Emma那样技巧完美滴水不漏，但优美浓郁的气氛弥漫
不散。
在国内是不流行的，很多人会觉得dense，译文也表达不出原作之好。在英美还是算
popular的，高中生的暑假读物。Harold Bloom的有本介绍古典小说的书，自言隔数
年就会买Persuasion因为屡屡重看，书册卷旧不堪，极度推荐此书。
P&P常被旧酒新装，现代作家取用情节，象BJ's Diary，Jasmine Field等，(多数和
续集一样不好看)。Persuasion也是这样的。
