Olympic National Park
Olympic National Park位于Seattle西北方，是一个集雨林，海滩，群山为一体的特色
国家公园。以Tacoma为起点和终点，不进任何景点的岔道口（一般开进去还要十几迈，
完了还得绕出来），绕行一周，也需要6个多小时。门票和Mount Rainier一样，也是15
刀一辆车，包7天。下面分别介绍各个景点（小景点就不在这里介绍了，请大家自己官
网上看）。
Hurricane Ridge
Hurricane Ridge绝对是Olympic必去的景点。这里叫作hurricane是因为山脊的风速可
以到75迈/小时以上，每年有30-35 feet的降雪量。非常壮观的群山/雪山风景，其实
visitor center背后的观景台就很好，前面就是一片小山坡，运气好的话还有野花，再
前面是一排矮松树，然后就是群山尽收眼底，这些山峰远没有Mount Rainier高，但是

图冬天的绵绵细雨了。西雅图冬季多雨, 但都下不大, 温暧湿润的样子。当然最怀念的
还是夏天了，记得原来住的地方，虽说破旧，但是站在门前的那条街上就可以看见
Olympic山顶的终年积雪。我想趁记忆还没有淡忘，赶紧整理一下，也让去西雅图的人
多个参考吧。

发帖数: 218 | 28 应朋友要求记了一个笔记, 正好可以贴到这里, 对第一次去Olympic的有帮助吧
根据NPS的annual visit report, Olympic national park的人气是跟Yesomite/Yellow
stone 同一个级别的。 既然来到了Seattle当然很向往, 三个小时,一个周末就可以到
了,没有预先计划细节但长周末到了还是出发吧.
按照公园的交通，大体上就是沿着101公里绕一个大圈, 选择无非是顺时针还是逆时针,
当然这也很重要, 可能影响到几个小时开车时间.
因为有试着预定lodge或hotel, 加上沿途所见, 所以对住宿情况略知一二, 所以总结一
下, http://www.nationalparkreservations.com/olympic.php 可以找到大部分lodge, 位置有特色的应该是:
1） Lake Quinault Lodge: 南面,非常漂亮也有点历史的建筑, Lake Quinault边上,
提前半年以上预定吧。 顺便提一下, 附近有几个Campground但是规模比较小, 而且早

这次西雅图/温哥华之行，原来准备去Olympic国家公园玩三天，Rainier都没有预备时
间。 结果不知道是今年特别干旱的原因，在Olympic就待了半天，去了高山，雨林，在
Rialto Beach看了日落，除了在海滩碰上雾气，看到海山飘来的仙山，非常惊艳，其他
比较失望，就取消了其余的行程。
最后两天，决定去Rainier，实际只在天堂呆了半天，LD不给力，只爬到Glacier View
Point，但是我们来回走了两个不同的路线，最后去瀑布路线走了一趟，真的不虚此行
，雪山，瀑布，漫山遍野的野花。
我这次的感觉是，奥林匹克国家公园名声比Rainier大的多，其实，除非你能camping几
天，否则绝对不如 Rainier更好玩，我们时间限制，只跑了一个点，下次还想再去。

大洋海岸篇：
Olympic的海岸在整个公园的西面。从西雅图出发，绕道Tacoma和华盛顿的州府Olympia

发帖数: 506 | 32 不知不觉，离开西雅图已经两个月了，东海岸的雪一场大过一场，让我不禁怀念起西雅
图冬天的绵绵细雨了。西雅图冬季多雨, 但都下不大, 温暧湿润的样子。当然最怀念的
还是夏天了，记得原来住的地方，虽说破旧，但是站在门前的那条街上就可以看见
Olympic山顶的终年积雪。我想趁记忆还没有淡忘，赶紧整理一下，也让去西雅图的人
多个参考吧。
奥林匹克国家公园地处华盛顿州的奥林匹克半岛，三面环水。西靠太平洋, 东面和西雅
图市隔着Pudget Sound, 北面和温哥华隔着Juan De Fuca海峡。距西雅图市3-4个小时
的车程。90万公顷的土地上集中了海岸，雨林和雪山等多种地貌，这在北美是独一无二
的。公园可以开车到达的地方只有有数的几个，但都相当有特色，如果你愿意细细品味
的话，相信会给你带来惊喜的。
大洋海岸篇：

The opening ceremony was a bit of a grab-bag, wasn’t it? I thought some of
it was great, some was rather bad and quite a lot of it will mystify the
foreign TV viewers (95% of the audience) who it was supposed to dazzle.
Things I liked: Thomas Heatherwick’s Olympic cauldron, a brilliantly
imaginative reworking of the old flame. The Queen allegedly parachuting from

Brits are funny they are good; when they are good they are funny. But brits
were neither good nor funny in what could have been a memorable and colorful
ceremony. It could have started in the after noon or evening – atleast the

今天是eugene 08 olympic trial 第一天。没有票当然不能进场，但是可以进入外围场
地。到处都是商家搭起的帐篷，当然是买东西了。特别是Nike，几乎把小商场搬来了。
场外是巨大的电视，现场直播。先是美国国歌，然后开始比赛。很有趣的是，我看到屏
幕上枪响，听到的却是从隔壁传来的枪声！这就是现场。美国的田径不赚钱，运动员怎
么办？原来大公司资助。大部分人受Nike, Adidas, Ascics 等公司赞助才来的。
值得注意的是现场的保安工作。开幕式没有烟火，却有美国空军的2架战斗机呼啸而过！
eugene 警察局的防炸弹卡车也出动了。但现场的警察不多。
Eugene市民也不含糊。已经有附近的居民打出"泊车，20块一晚"的牌子。 |

发帖数: 12977 | 47 这次西雅图/温哥华之行，原来准备去Olympic国家公园玩三天，Rainier都没有预备时
间。 结果不知道是今年特别干旱的原因，在Olympic就待了半天，去了高山，雨林，在
Rialto Beach看了日落，除了在海滩碰上雾气，看到海山飘来的仙山，非常惊艳，其他
比较失望，就取消了其余的行程。
最后两天，决定去Rainier，实际只在天堂呆了半天，LD不给力，只爬到Glacier View
Point，但是我们来回走了两个不同的路线，最后去瀑布路线走了一趟，真的不虚此行
，雪山，瀑布，漫山遍野的野花。
我这次的感觉是，奥林匹克国家公园名声比Rainier大的多，其实，除非你能camping几
天，否则绝对不如 Rainier更好玩，我们时间限制，只跑了一个点，下次还想再去。
另外，Portland 沿着大河的 historic highway 也是非常值得一看，基本不去 Mt
Hood的话。
以后准备行程的朋友，强烈建议 Rainier， Olympic不去也罢，Rainier里面的森林不
比Olympic差。 |

Boy, am I steamed: I just found out that the U.S. Olympic team’s opening
ceremony outfits were made in China!
I’m so mad as I write this that I’m in danger of breaking the keyboard of
my computer, which was made in -- oops -- China.
