发帖数: 4 | 1 个月20号, 我听了一场Mahler NO5.原本的指挥Lorin Mazzel因故没能成行,但乐团
请来了救火的指挥,是来自San Diego 的Music Director Jahja Ling.
我是演出之前三天才得到的通知,当时还在犹豫是否应该换成其他的场次,因为我之所以
在季票中选了这一场多少是因为Mazzel的缘故. Pittsburgh历任的指挥从Fritz Reiner,
Steinberg到 Previn, Mazzel,前两人早已过世,无缘现场,Previn来过,惟有Mazzel繁忙于
NY.Mazzel的指挥纽约爱乐的Mahler还从未听过,这更增加了我对那场音乐会的兴趣.
在一场没有Intermission的音乐会中(前面是Messian的作品),能耐心的听完Mahler
确实不是容易的事情. 事后才知道,因为Jahja Ling是临时来赶场,所以乐团和指挥在下午
又完整的彩排了一次.一天中连续两次演奏这样重量级的作品,对指挥,对乐团都是极大的
考验.
总体来说Jahja Ling的mahler是比较外在的.乐队的铜管发挥了极大的能量,整部作品因而
也比较出彩. |

I own both of above but like Walter's more which I once heard from
LP. Meantime, I think I have merely a poor understanding to this work,
vague impression plus indescribable impulsions. In fact, it seems to
me to communicate with Mahler is subtler, deeper thus easier than with
Beethoven for his richer sensitivity. But at once I would to say it's
harder to grip the structural, the spirital meaning in Mahler than in
Beethoven maybe for they have different art ideal as well as doctrine.

you have to listen to it for more than a few times to begin to appreciate.
Beautiful sound. Starting with a rather grey-dark tune in the first movement,
but this kind of darkness is quite hopeful, you know that he will bring the
brightness back sometime during the music. It is true for this very music as
well. but nevertheless the brightness in first mvt was extremely transient.

In her diaries, Alma describes her three principal love-affairs - with Klimt,
Zemlinsky and Mahler - in meticulous detail. Strangely enough, almost every
episode of the Klimt saga is recounted weeks later. The explanationcan be
found in her Autobiography:
"Here our love was cruelly destroyed by my mother. She broke her word of
honour, read the stammerings I wrote down in my diary and hence knew all about
my love-affair. And—horror of horrors—she read that Klimt had kissed me!"

side’ 的。不要太当真，读一读还挺有意思。Scarlatti 说得好 “Be less critical,
and your pleasure will increase." 用作者评价 Mahler的话，这篇文章不过是
‘entertainments interlaced with irony and sophistication’。文中除了 Mahler
对 Richard Strauss 的嫉妒这样稍微严肃一点的话题之外，还有不少笑料，像 Disney

classical music is diverse. I listen from monteverdi to schoenberg.
Probably none of bookshelves will sound great with Mahler's symphonies or
Wagner's Rings. Quite a lot of monitors/bookshelves might do well with
chamber music. With my budget(maybe below 1000 for used) and within
bookshelves, a compromise shall always be made.
Mahler might be labeled to be dynamic by listeners of old generation. But

我是很晚才听MAHLER的.当时买的第一张是EMI KLEMPERER指挥的MAHLER的
第二"复活"(当时大多数MAHLER 2都做两张CD,觉得贵.只有这张79分钟做在
一张里).坚持听完,真觉得感人至深.
而后来买过SOLTI的第八,虽然有"千人"之名,SOLTI的又是名盘,但根本听不
下去就关了.
我还喜欢第五和第九(前面问的WALTER的MONO版),但不太喜欢大地之歌.

经过一段时间。不过，听古典的几乎没有人不喜欢马勒吧？你可能不喜欢
他的某部作品，可是在他的9部交响曲中你总会找到心之所属的。对于在
下，他是除了老柴以外最亲切的。在下以为“信仰”、“爱情”、“自

们对mahler 的很多观点受他的印象很大。以前人们对 Mahler 7 的最后一个乐章持肯定
态度，而今人们转而吹捧中间的三个乐章。 Adorno的分析是，和 Nietzsche类似，
Mahler 善于表现悲观，压抑，绝望，一旦他要歌颂的时候就显得苍白无力。
Rosen 则没有太多有新意的东西，对已经树立起来的权威，他从技术角度加以极力捍卫。
任何试图从其它角度理解权威的努力，都被他认为不够严肃；忽略了，或者说没有认识到
权威的伟大之处。譬如，Beethoven 有如此大名，难道原因只在他的音乐里面吗？其实，
从 Rosen 的书里看得出他对很多问题的见解很清醒，但这都不能动摇他保卫权威的立场

的演出计划。好戏连台，不容错过。最难得的是 Levine 指挥 Boston Symphony
Orchestra 的 Mahler 8。Levine 一直想在 Met 演一次 Mahler 8，但是 Management 的
阻力太大。本来就赔钱，演Mahler 8只会赔得更多。刚到BSO，Levine 就要过这个瘾。正
在顶峰的 Takacs String Quartet 明年一月份要拉 Beethoven complete cycle。Rosen
要在 92nd st Y 连讲带弹三个下午。主题分别是 Chopin， Schumann， Mendelssohn

PAVEL 的方法还是较多的为其他STRENGTH COACH 引用， SUCH AS
BEASTSKILLS, MAHLER, COTTER, AND MANY OTHERS.
PAVEL ENTER THE KB 中提到的 一周三次（ HEAVY, MEDIUM, LIGHT ， plus some
VARIETY following light/medium day) 的PROGRAM 较好， crossfit 也推荐。

值得一提, 是 Mahler 在第9前所创作的 " 大地之歌 "。有空的话, CSO 应该去
听这作品, 并认识内里歌词。这可以帮助你了解 Mahler 第9的音乐内容。
但是在第9里 这种突破缺席了 整个交响曲庞大 复杂 然而却空虚无比--就像黑格尔的
哲学体系一样 所以 个人感觉 在写9的时候 马勒可能已经没有精力或意愿再去思考和
自我斗争了

年 由 Amadeus Press ( Portland , Oregon )翻译为英语发行，英语全名为

Mahler 的交响曲当然是他的主要成就，但是作为 symphonic song writer 的
Mahler 一样不容忽视。谁能听‘悼亡儿之歌’而无动于衷呢？Lied 是浪漫时期
代表性的样式。到了 fin-de-siecle 依然红火，连 Schoenberg 这样干巴的人
物都不得不‘强说愁’。
