而且对于公司有paid sick leave和paid personal day只字不提

我也是到了年底别人告诉我才知道这个paid sick leave
我决定利用这个paid sick leave和paid personal day+圣诞回国,但是现在还有没有
通知老板,
我看公司的政策,一般paid sick leave不用特殊处理,但是保留要求病假条的权利
大家看看用什么理由比较合适(回国弄个病假条还是比较容易的)

),现在休六周的Family Leave。前六周是SDI Benefit, 州政府付大概50%的工资。这
个不需要连续在加州工作一年以上。我是在预产期前四周递的申请,这张表需要医师签
字。在你申请开始日期后一周开始收到payment,打入BOA的一个特定帐号,你会收到一
张Debit Card。后面的Family Leave 最长六周,但需要在加州连续工作一年以上才可
以申请。也可以从州政府领大概50%的工资。钱会打入你前面那个帐号。你可以接在
Maternity Leave后休,也可以在生产之日后一年内休。 当然,你能不能休这么长完全
看老板的,我说的是你的保险规定的benifit。如果老板好,你还可以休年假,这时的
工资就是全薪的。总时间会更长。可能有些具体细节各个单位不同,建议你去Human
Resource 去了解清楚。 |

leave 大概可以比unemployment package 多300/week,大概16周,(2周产前,8周产后
,还有6周family leave). 但我不知道,take paternity leave 后,是否还可以拿
unemployment package. 毕竟unemployment package可以拿超过一年。

pay.
As I know, my best friend (H1B) just took five weeks off and came back from
China. Three out of the five weeks are PTO and the rest of two are leave
without pay.
Myself (H1B too) took six weeks off back to china. I used my overtime not no
-pay leaves. I double how the immigation system knows that you take paid or
no-pay leave.

当然这个你自己衡量,系里是不是很supportive.小心老美有的时候很虚伪的。
是有先例,不想多说细节,第四年leave了一学期,没拿到tenure.performance没问题,文章,grant都是系里排top 3.annual review也很好。
总之,tenure之前,要小心再小心。
女faculty生孩子有工会保护,男faculty就没有了。
也有相似问题. 我也是实在没办法才Leave. |

有可能在maternity leave之后,辞职,现在还是h1(nonprofit),在找工作。
要是找到了,打算修完产假就到新单位上班。
问题是maternityleave期间,是政府发的paid family leave,所以我想那时候单位发
的paycheck应该没有钱。这样申请h1的时候(nonprofit转成工业界的h1),会有问题
么?一般都要求最后几张的paycheck,有还是会有,就是上面没有钱。大家有人这样操
作过么?

具体的情况是这样的,lp的老板马上没有funding了,已经告诉lp只能工作到明年一月

月还没有找到,就想到了1月份后,保持h1b的身份,但是leave without pay过去找工
作几个月,现在这边的hr和老板都没有问题,但是,问了一下我们的移民律师,她说,
h1b的leave without pay会严重影响我们将来485的审核,不知道大家有没有什么建议

DS2019表过期时间与合同同为17年7月31日。
老板7月初忽然告知不能再续合同。我立刻寻找下家,现在有其他学校某老板口头给了
offer,但还没有invitation letter. 因为DS2019过期在即,估计J1 transfer很难在
DS2019过期前完成。原本想在现老板这转为self-funded的volunteer继续维持J1身份,
可系里的chair说,不能在同校同系继续做self-funded的visiting scholar,因为这违
反了劳工法, 所谓“不允许你在这里work as a slave".
我的问题是:1.J1可不可以申请unpaid leave? 有没有可能可以让老板续合同,相应和
续DS2019,但我申请unpaid leave,放弃或者自付学校的医疗保险。老板只要不出钱,
应该怎么样都愿意,但这样unpaid leave期间会不会不能进行J1 transfer,或者会不

有几个问题困扰:
1. 要写邀请B2过来旅游探亲,可是签证官认为medical leave了 没有精力和时间开车出

2. L.D.depressed, 加上有刚生了小孩(快半岁了), 签证官是否认为岳父母是过来照料
L.D.和 小孩的? 这个怎么说个故事给签证官?

employment letter 状态是inactive. 这种情形怎么邀请呀?
4. 我们共同邀请了我的父母B2过来了,他们快要准时回去了. 现在又马上共同邀请岳父
母过来. 前者对后者又坏的影响吗?
主要问题是我在上班,L.D.情绪波动大,基本自己带不了孩子,也不想把孩子这么小送到
infant care (不是钱的问题).特别希望自己的父母过,说说话,心理也好一些.

我们公司是sick leave的时间可以最多累计到double一年的,比如一年6天,就可以最
多攒到12天
