My company lawyer filed my EB3 China labor certification on 10/2003.
Then in 04/2006, they told me they converted old pending LC to PERM
and recaptured the earlier priority date of 10/2003. The PERM get
approved and I140 approved based on that, in 07/2007, they filed EB3
China I485. They always insist the old PD is recaptured, so my VB should

当然严格说跟lawyer等价的是attorney-at-law。另外还有attorney-in-fact，是指持
有代理许可（power of attorney）的代理人，不一定是律师。
当然有些词组固定搭配只能用attorney，比如attorney general, district attorney
，你不能说lawyer general或district lawyer，虽然意思就是lawyer。 |

Ph.D, 看着周围同事，假如只做bench scientist的话 SALARY长的特慢, 混5-10年做
group的头也就~130-140K，当然压力也小，相对华尔街而言.
曾经想过读MBA/Quan,但是觉得自己三十好几，再读两年去华尔街毫无优势，而且也不
想full time读书，毕竟还得养活老婆，孩子，全职读书，压力太大。
考虑转行到Patent Lawyer, 这样薪水才有向上的空间，而且Ph.D还排的上用场，各位
转行到Patent Lawyer前辈给点意见，拍砖也行，毕竟是一个大的Career Change，希望

for foreign lawyers who finish a US LL.M. degree to qualify for the state
bar exam. The amendments went into effect on May 18.

金支持。可惜大多数法学院毕业的华人最后还是选择公司法，因为语言能力，这个
trial lawyer的培养，需要几代人。
美国黑人为了自己权利，打了无数官司，从1920年到1970年代，官司无数，很多打到最
高法庭，然后赢了后，再打官司，为了法律执行。
就一个Brown v. Board of Education 的案子，最高法院赢了后，说是不允许不同种族
不同学校分开教育，可是各个学区不干。然后又到全美数百个学区打官司，强迫那些学
区执行，一直到所有学区不许种族分开教育，黑人花费了多少人力和财力。
