买了房子后用过专业的园艺公司，后来也自己动手打理。如果你家草坪不是很大大，
要求不是很高（在小区中等偏上），完全可以DIY。这里给各位新买了房子打算自己打
理草坪的人说说我的入门级经验。以下适用于东部地区cool season grasses (KBG,
feacus etc.) 并以新泽西为例。往南往北的可以酌情调整时间。
三月
Spring clean up:春天刚回暖，草地雪化完以后就可以clean up了， 主要就是把枯枝
落叶清一清。
dethatching：如果草坪有些年头了，经年的枯草会结成一层厚厚的thatch，超过0.
5inch就全 不利于根部透气肥料渗透。这就需要用专门的dethatch耙子（Thatching
Rake）把草坪梳一遍，把thatch层打散，并去掉一些枯草。地太大的话最好租电动的拉
着耙子，省时省力。
Aeration: 也就是打孔透气。用aerator把地里打一个个深一点的空，让根部呼吸。
以上三项自己做的话要半天，请人做大概$200-400。

Most lawns can benefit from lawn aeration. However, the biggest reasons to
aerate are heavily used lawns, thatch layers greater than 1/2 inch and soils
that are mostly clay. An easy way to test your soil is to peal back a
section and check the depth of roots. If the roots are only a couple inches
deep then your lawn could probably benefit from core aeration.

This morning I found a huge patch of my lawn in my front yard all dug up.
Not huge holes, but a lot of small ones about an inch deep and a inch wide.
There was about 80 of them all in about a 3 foot circle.. I don't know if it
was some jerk kid, or an animal. I wouldn't think some kid would spend that
much time doing that, so it leads me to believe it was some kind of animal.

夏天除了剪草就不用做什么了，做什么都没有用。好草长的慢，野草长的快。
但是注意剪草的时候留最高或者次高的一档，让好草扎根深一点。草剪短就毁了，我家
前面的草坪去年被劳模减的非常短，然后就开始变秃了。

秋天开始，OVERSEED，就是把杂草清一清，然后不好的地方补种种子。补种子的时候用
那个SCOTT的LAWN SOIL比较管用，先刨松了土，撒一层LAWN SOIL，撒种子，盖一层
LAWN SOIL.要是天冷了或者干，弄点那种干草或者絮絮一样的东西当被子还是挺好的。
树下补适合SHADE的种子。

your lawn to be perfect in the next few weeks or months after you have done
something good to your lawn. It is more like a multi-year project. Even
for a newly renovated lawn, it won't look at its best until a few years have

理工到家，美国人一般不满天要价。4和tax没关，这不用做。5这个关系他们的保险，

1.tenant 有一条75磅的大狗 German shepard，如果我们租给他们，这条大狗会对房子
有什么危害？在lease里面有什么需要特别强调的吗？pet control什么的？他们同意多
付一个月的deposit 作为pet deposit。
2.我家房子带有泳池，有HOA。tenant说他们愿意自己负责游泳池和lawn，说如果HOA对

known accurately is to do a soil test from some reputable lab. You can
check your local Cooperative Extension Office or your state university's
agriculture departments to see if they provide a soil test service, or you
can send your soil samples to UMass soil lab or Logan Labs.
A soil test before planting and a test every couple of years afterwards is
highly recommended for anybody who is serious about his/her lawn.

我补种草籽，买了SCOTTS的LAWN SOIL，想让草苗长的好的地方，我用觉得足够的LAWN
SOIL，而且他的地方，我不用或者少用LAWN SOIL。 结果是想长的好的地方，发芽很稀
疏，无所谓的地方，草苗却长的很密。。
