以前老系主任对我相对很公平。新主任跟我同时拿到tenure的,年龄也相当。感觉他一
上任就就跟我找茬。表面上是个笑面虎,哼哼哈哈的,ok, right的。 是个小系,我
是唯一的非白人。跟同事相处也很融洽,没矛盾。以前的老系主任会给我的一门课安排
TA.他一上来,就说你那课没必要TA.这不算什么,小事,我接受。他上任第一年结束,
就给我SERVICE打了“good”。 导致我今年夏天没涨上工资。从2008年后就没涨过工资
(除了promotion),盼星星盼月亮,今年有一笔史上最大的资金用于解决严重的
salary compression/inversion问题(新招的助理教授的工资比副教授还高)。因为那
么一次“good” 评分(第二年,也就是今年夏天是Excellent),工资没长成,学校工
会跟校方谈判的结果是,所有2010-11年度有“good”及以下的,不能涨。错失将近
6000美元的涨薪。郁闷了一个夏天。
开学后因为忙,心情转好。没想到这几天又让我不快。要我明年春季教4门课(12课时

usa treasury market has the largest volume and best liquidity to park the
money, and us dollar is world reserve money, the current debt ratio is

Cash should be treated the same as short term treasury.
And when we talk about rates, there are long term rates (10yr or above) or
short term rates (2 yr or below).
Because bond price is inverse to bond yield, so generally if you predict
rates go up, then you should short bond (or move to shorter term bond, or
cash). Otherwise, go with the longer spectrum of bond.

现在在看Programming Pearls,想把里面的经典算法理解, 写熟练, 然后准备找些题目做做, 各位有啥建议啊, 尤其是下面这些 |

第二个shuffle就用knuth好了。测试只有大量的shuffle很多次,然后看统计结果,比如每个位置上每张牌的等概率分布,位置上的相关性有些不太好测(比如说,你的shuffle算法很差,每次就是rotate一位),算一算不同位置上牌的相关性?或者就是每次算个inversion数来看看分布的情况,或者算算针对某一张牌看看他出现在哪些位置是否有随机性。反正就不停的想一些测试结果可以反映随机性的,估计面试官也不会是专门搞蒙特卡洛的。
第三个就完全不懂了。。。

及embedded system/RTOS。
早上开始做了一个ppt,大概一个小时,主要是研究相关,interview team的人提问。
接下来是一个老资格台湾工程师面试,考的比较简单,除了简历,问的是比较常规的问
题,比如reverse byte,reverse bit,然后little/big endian判断,SPI的用法,DMA
等等,C++方向问了pure virtual。总的感觉不是太难,但是第一个比较紧张,有点不
适应。还好完了之后就是lunch时间,这个台湾工程师带我开出去吃。
之后下午继续,第一个上来的是一老印,不过挺nice的,因为是在这里做contract的原
因,所以说了一些他自己对公司的看法,以及他跳来跳去的感受。问的问题没有白板
coding,就是简历问题。
接下来一个白人工程师,主要靠RTOS,他我感觉是问的水平最高的,当然也最难。首先
就问说RTOS和普通的OS(windows,linux)主要区别。我说是deterministic。他接着

第一题我在A家面试的时候也遇到了
假设原来的数是num,定义a=num, b=0
每次取a&1也就是a的最右边一位,b=b<<1+(a&1)
a = a>>1;
那么b就是num的inverse bit的结果
return ( num-b==0 )
第二题我的想法是
从三个linked list的开头往后遍历
如果三个数相等,返回结果
如果不相等,最小的那个数->next,继续比较
总之就是比较当前最小的那个数和其他两个数是否相等
complexity是O(n1+n2+n3), n1, n2,n3是三个linked list的长度 |
