Today, HR asked me if I was interviewing other company and had outstanding
offers.
Usually what is best to answer this question?
I have some phone interview back to Jan and Feb. after that, they just keep
in silence,no reject, but no further step too. An onsite interview, 1.5
month ago, but they kept silence too. no status update. I am more tend to

发帖数: 633 | 5 最近有几个版上的tx被interview,也收到不少站内信，eb1类被interview的case比较少
，我当时也是考古了无数次，这里写一下大家的问题，我基于自己的经历来写的，可能
有些出入：
1 case被transfer可能是有面试的迹象，但也不一定，有个版友就是被transfer后，没
了动静，自动批了。。。一般要transfer的话，有2-3次，然后回到testing and
interview,这一步就要寄出面试通知单了，同时网站显示面试时间，一般从第一次
transfer到寄出面试通知单要3周左右，然后面试时间是通知单寄出后一个月左右。
2 夫妻异地被interview
不管是每个人各自收到一份面试通知，还是只有一个人收到面试通知，夫妻俩人都应该
同时参加interview.
我个人的经历，异地，只有主申请人收到面试通知，面试的时候两人同去的，io那里有
主副申请人的所有申请材料。关于没有面试通知单是否能进得去，没问题，可以跟门卫
说是couple,要一起面试。面试通知单上有写，marriage based 德，配偶要一起去（这

other interview offers. This is a common topic during lunch/dinner with
residents, if not during the formal interview with attendings. Whether or
not this is 100% professional is another question.

。我在这些过程中，有的时候会开一点玩笑，一般大家都会笑。我本人是比较喜欢活跃
氛围的。问题是我不知道尺度多大，才算不过分。
举个例子：
在其中一个Interview,PC在发他们医院册子的时候，除了打印了他们PD以及faculty的
照片之外，还附加了他们的州的介绍，州长的照片。我就笑着问： Is Mr. Governor
gonna interview us?
在另外一个INTERVIEW, resident 在介绍他们医院发的一个手机的时候，摆放的样子很
像柜台卖的手机， 在其中一个topic的间隙，我笑着问，What is the brand of your
phone?
在还有一个Interview, PC 在问： Does anybody have any questions? 问了3遍没有
人问问题。我觉得问一个可能比较好，因为是中午，我就笑着问了一下：when are you

and you feel the way, the tone and the joke are appropriate in the settings,
it is ok to do it. It may or may not add point to your interview if you do

感受。本人一共参加了3个mock interview，一个是Dr. Zhang的班，一个是Dr. Smith,
一个就是上个周末ACAP的，抛开花费，感觉各有千秋，也各有不同的收获。
Dr. Zhang的班今年一共就2个，每班大概15名同学，我有幸得以提前报名。班
的形式大概是这样：张老师先以ppt 课程的形式从他自己的经历以及对我们CMGs奋斗背
景的深刻理解出发，详解了我们CMGs当前match所面对的形式以及我们应从哪些方面提
高自己。对张老师说的只有也必须真正把自己融进美国文化才能更好地在这块土地上成
功地行医深有感触。但因为报了的比较早的那个班，自己没花时间准备，最后mock iv
的几个问题尤其present case自己压根儿就没练一下，感觉很遗憾没有好好把握这个

A lot of ppl were asking how to solve xxx after the interviews. Someone gave

我到目前已经历了两次学校的phone interview，但是看来都未进入最后onsite的名单
。phone interview 中被问到的问题大都是版上列出的经典问题，本人事先也做了充分
的准备，很多问题的答案都已事先背熟。因此自认为interview中的语言应该不是导致
失败的直接原因。不知道学校在phone interview中到底考察的是哪些方面的素质？是
考察语言和交流，比如说语气，语调，语言的组织和连贯性？还是问题的答案本身很重
要？比如说问如何与本系现有的教授合作，如果提问者不很同意我的回答，是不是就没
戏了？如果是这样的话，那phone interview 也太难了，很多问题都是 open性质的，
很难说哪个答案对哪个不对。版上成功拿到 onsite的前辈都是怎么准备电话面试的？

个在AAA召开的会议，估计得自己掏机票钱了，而且要花几天时间，估计就谈一个小时。

上周又打电话说让我再去一趟. 就大半天, 和上回没见的2,3 个再见一面.
但是前一天要和一个senior 的associate prof 吃晚饭. 这个上回interview 没见到,
这次 interview 的 安排又没他. 估计借吃饭的时候interview.
那么这样的情况下, 一般如何着装? 正式 interview的着装, 还是可以休闲一点?

相信吧。如果是onsite interview的意思，那么后边的phone call是说关于订机票，定
时间的问题吗？

Interviewer 多半会问你要什么 feedback，你当然会点名是有关 interview 的印象。
至于 What do you think about my interview?
基于礼貌，Interviewer 可能会说你表现得很不错，即便你其实表现不行。毕竟美国人
不是阿三，后者可能会直接说你太烂了。
这样说并非泼冷水，而是若被误导以致自我感觉良好，被拒后会信心大失呀！ |

我跃跃欲试说：那我要去interview他么？
他说：你是小朋友，人家可是10多年的工作经验。。。

噢，想起来，去年这个时候，我也被interview着。。。
每天的任务就是刷啊刷邮件，看啊看手机，生怕错过了什么
受到不少interview，电话啦，校园面试，onsite面试。。
但更多的是石沉大海杳无音讯，或是，明明答应好的一提身份就反悔，甚至是上来第一

现在的这个工作经过了4轮面试

俺印象比较深刻的是onsite那两次
头一次都到了HR，都谈到了bonus，我激动了半天以为就要拿下
结果又是很久没信，心又一下子down到谷底
很久之后突然又有第二次的onsite，我又开始激动，那天
6个人轮着面，从manager到VP
突然有个人就说：我们公司这些年都没有招过international的人
中国人也是有了绿卡才进来的

a while ago. Then I got a phone interview immediately after I submitted my
resume. But a few days later I got rejected.
I must have performed poorly in the interview. It's so frustrating that I

发帖数: 269 | 50 现在在骑驴找马的阶段，通过猎头找到一家Phone Interview，该公司比现在的大，去
的话说不上前景会如何。因为当时想申请的职务属于Management，Phone Interview的
HM当场说我还不Qualify，但问我是否考虑低一点的职位。其实那个底一点的职位只比
我现在的高一级，当然工资也会高一些（我现在的公司Pay的低是业界出了名的）。我
现在还在485阶段，什么时候绿卡到了还是个未知数。新公司可以Sponsor我，无非我得
给现在公司赔些钱而已（当时公司办绿卡的时候签了不平等条约的）。
我Phone Interview完了就没有当回事，后来和猎头聊了半天，猎头看出我犹豫不决，
建议我不要再继续了，因为万一Onsite给了Offer又不去会很伤人品的。戏剧化的是，
当天晚上收到HM给发来的Follow Up Email（头一次我还没有发Follow Up，结果
Interviewer给先发了！）HM希望我继续和他联系，找个时间吃个午饭，做个Informal
Chat。看得出来他倒是很想要我，不过是做苦力的那种，稍微带点Management性质的职
位又舍不得给我。
