There are so many times, it is mentioned that "believe and be saved.", "Your
faith has saved you." It's just so hard to put anything else in. Even
though the man resurrected did not believe, someone else believed Jesus and
their prayer worked.
I agree "believe" is a simplified word. But I think it is a good summary.
Because people believe human work is not responsible for salvation but a
product of salvation. You cannot bump into anyone and start talking about
theology for an hour.

People believe that God instills in each of us a unique and everlasting soul.

The New Testament contains five different metaphors for the foundation of
the Church (Matt. 16:18, 1 Cor. 3:11, Eph. 2:20, 1 Pet. 2:5–6, Rev. 21:14).
One metaphor that has been disputed is Jesus Christ’s calling the apostle

3. The Common Understanding of Justification
14.The Lutheran churches and the Roman Catholic Church have together
listened to the good news proclaimed in Holy Scripture. This common
listening, together with the theological conversations of recent years, has
led to a shared understanding of justification. This encompasses a consensus
in the basic truths; the differing explications in particular statements
are compatible with it.

Question: "What is the definition of sin?"
Answer: Sin is described in the Bible as transgression of the law of God (1
John 3:4) and rebellion against God (Deuteronomy 9:7; Joshua 1:18). Sin had
its beginning with Lucifer, probably the most beautiful and powerful of the
angels. Not content with his position, he desired to be higher than God, and
that was his downfall, the beginning of sin (Isaiah 14:12-15). Renamed

j*******7 发帖数: 6300 | 50 Did God use the "Big Bang" to create the universe?
Prior to the 20th Century, it was not clear if the universe ever had a
beginning. Had it always existed? No one knew. It was a matter of faith.
Then a succession of discoveries throughout the 20th Century showed beyond a
reasonable doubt that the universe did have a beginning. It wasn't always
here.
First, Einstein's Theory of General Relativity, published in 1916,
suggested that the universe had not always existed. Unsettled by the
implications...
