with capped PTO, you are entitled to paid-time-off.
with unlimited PTO, you are entitled to NOTHING.
Your paid time off is at the mercy of your management chain. When they allow
you to take some time off, it's like they are doing you a big favor.
In terms of your work-life-balance, it's a rat race to the bottom. Unless
you are way better than your colleagues, those who take less PTO will
produce more than you do. |

毫无回报的贱人，但是解放不代表可以放弃自己的责任义务和辛苦工作努力生活的态度
，不代表去剥削别人，把自己的生活架构在无付出的享乐上。这个误读适用各种解放，
包括中国刚成立时候的各种社会运动，吃饭的时候都松开腰带，干活的时候都观望，这
是不可持续的。
对于想要成家的人，不管男女，放弃家庭责任都是小人行径。对于想立足的且无残疾的
人，有点工作能力是必要的。小女人也好大女人也好，做家务and／or赚钱养家，要能
支撑起一半的家计。解放关键不在摆脱家庭俗事或者摆脱男人。而是找到一个没有那么
多entitlement，能和你一起奋斗、付出、珍惜感谢你，支持你的人一起面对生活。
男女让人讨厌的地方不过是entitlement太大，总想别人把自己生活安排好，不想付出
太多，要求还不少。遇到这样的人多了，难免让男男女女觉得不必结婚。

传统婚姻就像国内改革开放初期的大学，很难考上，上了以后不怎么学也能毕业，毕业
了不怎么工作也有铁饭碗。婚姻靠的是entitlement。
欧式的长期稳定同居就像美国的大学，入学容易，好好学才能毕业，毕业了好好工作才
有饭碗。同居没有entitlement，只能善待对方。不能打劫对方，不能奴驭对方。

please distinguish the difference between rights and privileges. Everyone is
entitled to their "equal rights", but only the qualified is entitled to
certain privileges.
I guess everyone has the right to marry whoever (or whatever) he/she love,
and bear their own children, but only the qualified ones have the privilege
to adopt an child too young to express its his/her own interests. |

己都说中国互联网企业都是窝里横，谁也走不出去，这点马云倒是诚实。2）过于政治
化，
背后各种红二代把阿里巴巴当印钞机，和美国自由市场经济竞争出来的企业完全两码事，
平时背后有人撑腰，但是一旦中国政治气候发生变化，就会有巨大风险。
先不提阿里巴巴的经营问题，仅仅从海外投资者角度来说，风险也是巨大，
1. VIE 结构让投资者买得只是开曼群岛的一个空壳公司，这个空壳公司只是entitled国
内alibaba的profit， 这个entitlement是由这个空壳公司和国内阿里巴巴一纸合约规
定的，其实合约的双方都是马云自己。国内也没有任何法律规范这种合约，
当然也无从保护投资者。 海外shareholder对国内的阿里巴巴也没有任何所有权，
将来一旦发生纠纷，马云一句话就能让海外投资者血本无归。
2. BABA的Shareholder对国内Alibaba没有任何ownership，也不能通过正常的股东
大会改选董事，阿里巴巴控制权完全在那个小partner group手里，那个group拥有的股份

Depending on how much responsibility you have over that particular piece,
and how much it would impact your pieces.
This is really more of a political issue than a technical one. In my
consultant mentality, I would alway bring it up. My client is entitled to my
professional opinions, so I'm obliged to provide them, but I'd be
completely fine if they choose to ignore them - they are entitled to that
just as well. 8-) |
